Frozen Chicken Breast In Ninja Foodi

One of my biggest addictions is to recycle. I buy second hand clothes, have a second hand sofa, buy my kids second hand Christmas presents and love taking the kids to the big recycling bins.

I also love to recycle with food. I am obsessed with leftovers and if I can make one meal into two, or even three, then I am a very happy home cook.

You are probably wondering what this has to do with frozen chicken breast in the Ninja Foodi.

Well, it is a recycled sauce that I am using to cook the frozen chicken breasts in. It came from my Ninja foodi slow cooker coconut curry chicken.

You see, it is much better to use flavoured stocks and sauces in the Ninja Foodi pressure cooker, otherwise your food will come out bland.

Plus, you can get real enjoyment of thinking what you did with that bit of sauce or soup from another meal.

Can You Cook Frozen Chicken Breast In Ninja Foodi?

Yes, you can. Plus, it doesn’t matter if your frozen chicken breasts are stuck together.

In fact, mine usually look like this:

What is important when cooking frozen chicken breast in the Ninja Foodi is:

  • That your chicken is fully cooked
  • That it is cooked in a sauce or a stock to prevent it from becoming dry

Ninja Foodi Frozen Chicken Technique

As I mentioned above, I used my leftover slow cooker chicken dinner to make this chicken breast.

What I have a habit of doing, is making way too much sauce when I make slow cooker meals, and then have a load leftover.

What I will then do, is blend what I have left in the slow cooker. It will then get dumped in the freezer and I have a stock for future meals or I have a soup that is ready to serve the next day and just needs a quick reheat.

What I did this time was pour my leftover stock over frozen solid chicken breast in the Ninja Foodi.

Then I pressure cooked the frozen chicken and then once it was cooked, I could do what I liked with it.

Ninja Foodi Shredded Chicken Breast

My favourite thing with frozen chicken breast is to shred it and then use it for meal prep. What I did was shred the chicken breast first, then add barbecue sauce and then loaded it into meal prep containers with carrots.

Like you see below:

Though of course, if you don’t want to use barbecue sauce, you could use some of the leftover stock or use another favourite sauce.

Notes

Water. We add the water because if your sauce is thick (like mine) it will cause the burn warning and struggle to get to pressure. But if you are using a traditional chicken stock that is not as thick as a sauce, then you don’t need water.
Optional. The barbecue sauce is optional and you can mix and match it with another sauce. You could also use taco seasoning and use your shredded chicken for tacos. You could also slice your chicken if you don’t want shredded chicken.
