Frozen Chicken Wings In Ninja Air Fryer

Frozen chicken wings is one of my favourite foods to air fry, and a favourite among many, many air fryer users.

During the making of our air fryer cookbook we made two different types of wings. One is homemade from scratch style chicken wings and the other is frozen. You can order our air fryer cookbook here.

Over the last few days to celebrate everything wings we have shared with you some amazing ways to cook frozen wings. Including our complete guide to how to air fry frozen wings, which features 3 different wing flavours, plus our air fryer salt and pepper wings.

But one thing that has come up when we have talked about our air fryer cookbook is whether or not the recipes in the cookbook are suitable for Ninja Foodi Owners and the answer is a big fat YES and that the air fryer setting of the Ninja Foodi is the first you should learn.

Then once you feel confident you can move onto the pressure cooker and the other features.

We have also had requests for both fresh ninja foodi chicken wings and frozen and this is the time for us to share with you ninja foodi frozen chicken wings.

Plus, if you want more simple air fryer recipes using the Ninja Foodi you will also love: Ninja Foodi whole chicken, Ninja Foodi Strawberry Muffins, Ninja Foodi Halloumi Burgers, and even better Ninja Foodi burger and chips.

Can You Air Fry Frozen Chicken Wings In Ninja Foodi?

Yes, you can air fry frozen chicken wings in the Ninja Foodi. Even better, there are two ways of doing so. You can pressure cook frozen chicken wings like we have done in our instant pot frozen chicken wings and these will be like chicken that falls off the bone.

Or do more traditional frozen chicken wings in the Ninja using the air fryer basket.

Option two is our favourite when we are using the Ninja to cook frozen wings.

Plus, if you have a regular Ninja Air Fryer (not a multicooker) you can also follow this recipe.

Can You Stack Wings In Ninja Foodi?

No, we don’t recommend stacking wings in the Ninja Foodi. It can result in the chicken wings getting stuck together, it will also increase the cook time as there will be more wings that usual in the air fryer basket.

Why Are My Air Fryer Chicken Wings Not Crispy?

The usual reason for your air fryer chicken wings not been crispy is that they need a quick spray with some olive oil or the temperature of the air fryer is not high enough for a crisp.

You can usually fix this by a couple of extra minutes at the end of the cook time to crisp up with the wings with a spray of oil.

Salt And Pepper Chicken Wings Ninja Foodi

We are air frying hot and spicy frozen chicken wings in Ninja Foodi, but you can of course cook salt and pepper chicken wings instead.

Simply, use the same time and temp for your salt and pepper wings as we use in this recipe, and they will be perfect.

How To Cook Chicken Wings In A Ninja Double Air Fryer?

Usually, you would use a single basket air fryer to cook frozen chicken wings in the air fryer, but now there are many of us with double air fryers.

If that is you, then you do the air fryer frozen wings the exact same way, you can just cook two batches at once if you want to.

Or why not do one flavour of frozen wings in one drawer and then a second flavour in the other?

How Many Minutes To Air Fry Chicken Wings?

20 minutes is the ideal frozen wings cook time. Though of course, if you overfill the air fryer basket or if you have a lower performing air fryer then you may need to adjust the wings cook time.

Wings – For Ninja Foodi frozen wings we used a bag of Iceland hot and spicy wings. You can swap this for any bag of frozen hot wings or another flavour that you prefer.

Spray – This is of course optional, but if you want to cook frozen wings in air fryer that are super crispy, then we recommend some oil spray on the chicken wings skin.

Can You Recommend A Ninja Foodi?

I often get asked which kitchen gadgets I recommend and which one I use. For the Ninja Foodi we have this one. It doesn’t have as many bells and whistles compared to some of the newer models, but it does a great job.

We can dehydrate, air fry, pressure cook, sauté, slow cook, make yoghurt and so much more.

Plus, we recommend you head over to our ninja foodi recipes category as we have been using the Ninja Foodi since 2020 and just love it for simplicity, how delicious the recipes are when cooked in it and how much time it saves us in the kitchen. We even take the Ninja Foodi on holiday with us.
