Instant Pot Air Fryer Pork Belly
Anyone that knows me well, knows that I am obsessed with my instant pot pressure cookers and my air fryers.
I own two instant pot duos, 1 mealthy multipot, 1 mealthy crisplid, 1 power air fryer oven and 2 philips air fryers and I would never say no, to new air fryers or instant pots entering the Milner kitchen.
But what I love most is that I can mix and match my 2 favourite kitchen gadgets to create delicious family friendly meals.
I can make instant pot broccoli in the instant pot or mealthy, then while my broccoli is steaming away, I can cook air fryer chicken breast.
That is just as example of many, many lunches and dinners we make at home where we use both.
But there is also another way of cooking with the instant pot and the air fryer. That is where you kickstart the cooking process with the instant pot and finish it in the air fryer.
Or maybe you have a Mealthy Crisplid (if not check it out here) and crisp up your food directly in your pressure cooker.
I have done this many times, though my favourite is instant pot air fryer Mexican street corn. The corn is steamed first in the instant pot and then it is made crispy and has it’s add ins in the air fryer later.
Today, with our pork belly, we will be showing you EXACTLY how to combine the 2 gadgets to make the most delicious ever Filipino Pork Belly!
What Is Pork Belly?
Absolutely! Carrots air fry wonderfully and you will be surprised just how good air fryer carrots turn out.
What Does Pork Belly Taste Like?
Pork belly reminds me of when I cooked air fryer pork ribs. Imagine biting into pork ribs that have been roasted and being amazes by how good they taste.
Well that is what you should expect when you taste pork belly that has been air fried.
What’s The Best Way To Cook Pork Belly?
Combining instant pot pork belly with air fryer pork belly is the BEST method. The pork belly is braised in the instant pot pressure cooker and then the air fryer is used to crisp it up and make it have that wonderful deep fried texture.
I have had pork belly made many different ways and nothing compares to the way I am showing you how to cook pork belly today.
Instant Pot Pork Belly

The cooking process starts with the instant pot. To make instant pot pork belly you load up your instant pot pork belly strips into the pressure cooker and add your Filipino barbecue marinade.
The pressure cooker then marinades and braises the pork belly at the same time. Once it beeps you have perfectly cooked pressure cooker pork belly.
You can eat it as it is now because it is cooked. But of course, the air fryer is now going to be used to turn your pork belly into crispy pork belly.
Air Fryer Pork Belly

Once you have cooked your instant pot pork belly, it is the turn of the air fryer. I start by patting dry the pork belly with kitchen towel so that it will cook better.
Then the instant pot pork belly strips are sliced into air fryer pork belly bites and loaded into the air fryer basket.
After a quick air fry, you have perfectly cooked air fryer pork belly bites.

How Long To Pressure Cook Pork Belly?
To pressure cook your pork belly takes JUST 20 minutes. This makes the pork belly incredibly tender and perfect for eating or air frying.
Because there is not a lot of liquid in the instant pot, it doesn’t take as long as many other meat dishes to go to pressure.
How Long Do You Air Fry Pork Belly?
I like to air fry pork belly for JUST 5 minutes as this ensures that you don’t lose the tender pork belly texture that it gets from previously being pressure cooked.
Though, if you would like crispier air fryer pork belly I recommend increasing the air fryer cook time to 8 minutes.
Air Fryer Pork Belly Temperature
The air fryer pork belly temperature is 200c/400f. This is the best temperature for air frying food that you want to make crispy.
We use this a lot for when our air fryer food is already cooked but we want that amazing crispy texture.
Reheating Pork Belly In Air Fryer?
You can also reheat your pork belly in the air fryer. Load leftover pork belly into the air fryer basket and cook for 5 minutes at 160c/320f.
A lower temperature ensures that your pork belly doesn’t cook further and end up tough.
