This crack bread has to be the best air fryer appetiser of all time and perfect for summer barbecues, a girls night in, date night, or just for those garlic bread cravings.

Garlic Bread
Anyone that knows me well, knows that I am obsessed with garlic, and rarely eat bread unless itโs a garlic bread.
Garlic bread takes me back to my favourite restaurant as a kid (not there anymore unfortunately). It was an Italian restaurant and I would always watch them make my dad a garlic bread pizza.
It was so, so yummy and started my garlic bread obsession.
But of course, the flavour remains and trends happen, and I was so in love when an Aussie expat I met introduced me to what she called โcrack breadโ, an even better way to make garlic bread, plus with the addition of cheese, I mean what is not to love about garlic bread?
Today, I will be showing you how to make crack bread, why I love it and how easy it is to make this garlic bread trend in the air fryer.
What Does Crack Bread Mean?
Crack bread means bread that is so addictive, that it is more addictive than crack. It is so good that serve it to your friends and it is gone in seconds and as they say โblink and you will miss it!โ.
Though for me, when I think of the crack bread recipe I think of it more, as a pull apart garlic bread.
Because you have these little pulls of the bread with the garlic butter and cheese that lend itself to getting a bit at a time until you are done.
Can You Put Garlic Bread In The Air Fryer?
Yes, you can put garlic bread in the air fryer. You can do this pull apart cheesy bread type, you can warm up a garlic baguette that you have just bought from the supermarket, you can warm up garlic bread slices, or you can make our air fryer garlic bread which is like a garlic bread pizza.
The choices when it comes to air fryer garlic bread are endless!
Can You Make Pull Apart Bread Ahead Of Time?
Yes, you can make the pull apart bread ahead of time, but I wouldnโt cook the garlic bread until just before you are ready to eat. This is because it is not as good when it is reheated, as it is when you first air fry it.
If making ahead your garlic crack bread then I would recommend wrapping in foil and then it will stop the bread from going stale.
Why Is Garlic Bread So Nice?
I love the quote from the foodie movie Julie vs Julia and it really does get you thinking.
Butter. Everything tastes better with butter. Just think of all your favourite foods, they all have butter in.
And its true.
Garlic bread tastes so good because you are adding garlic, butter, and cheese to some bread.
Best Bread For Garlic Bread?
The best bread for garlic bread, especially to achieve garlic pull apart bread is a cob loaf.
This is the cob loaf we used, and it cost us just 69p at Morrisons.

The cob is the best for the job because it tastes amazing, cuts very well to get the right shape, doesnโt fall apart easily when prepping and perfectly fits in the air fryer basket.
Garlic & Cheese Bread Ingredients

Bread โ For bread we recommend a cob loaf. They are brilliant in the air fryer and we have found itโs the easiest option without the pull apart falling apart during the prep.
Spreading โ Then for spreading into the bread we used salted butter, frozen garlic, and dried parsley.
Cheese โ We are talking about cheesy bread, so I am sure you want to add lots of cheese. We recommend after the spreading you sprinkle the top with cheese. We usually do a couple of different types of cheese that we have bought grated as then its easier and less prep.
Can You Recommend An Air Fryer?
I often get asked which air fryers I recommend and which one I use. In 95% of our air fryer recipes, we use either the Philips Air Fryer XL or the Cosori XL because they are the best ones, we have found out of many air fryers we have tried over the years. You can click on the links above and read up on them. But if you would rather have a dual air fryer we recommend this Ninja Dual (make sure you order the right one as not all are good) or the Philips Dual.
How To Make Cheesy Pull Apart Bread?

- Slice. Start with the first of the slicing. Slice the cob like you would with a loaf of bread, but donโt go all the way down to the bottom, as you donโt want the cob to fall apart.
- Mix. Next add your garlic, butter, and parsley to a mixing bowl and air fry for 6 minutes at 120c/250f or until the butter is melted and stir with a spoon.
- Brush. Then brush the garlic butter down each of the slices until you have a good even coat. Then turn your cob sideways, slice again in the other direction and brush again.
- Cook. Then line the air fryer with foil, add the garlic bread cob and then sprinkle the top with lots of grated cheese. Then air fry for 8 minutes at 160c/320f or until the cheese is nicely melted and then serve. And that is your delicious recipe for crack bread and now you can rinse and repeat.
