Frozen Lasagna In Air Fryer
Yesterday on Recipe This, we shared with you how to cook an air fryer lasagna using the American Italian style of recipe.
But today, we wanted to follow up on our lasagna theme by showing you just how easy it is to reheat your favourite frozen lasagna in the air fryer.
You can also follow this method for any of your favourite air fryer TV dinners.
We all have our favourite TV dinner, don’t we? Mine as a kid was always the spinach and ricotta filled cannelloni.
I loved the taste of the spinach and it would be my go-to dinner when I was dining at an Italian restaurant.
But back when I did cookery at school, I remember a valuable lesson that the teacher taught us.
It was how small and expensive TV dinners are and how you are much better off making your own.
So, I rarely buy them, unless one of our readers asks me to, which is what is happening today with our air fryer frozen lasagna.
One of our readers asked us for help in cooking air fryer frozen lasagnas as well as frozen TV dinners in general.
We had a hunt around our local supermarket and didn’t find any that we liked. So, what we did was buy a small and a large supermarket fresh lasagna and placed them in the freezer.
The small frozen lasagna would be used in our Philips Air Fryer XL as it would be the perfect size for a regular air fryer basket and then the bigger one would be perfect for our Power Air Fryer Oven.
If you wanted to, you could make our homemade air fryer lasagna or your own, freeze it and then use this air fryer frozen lasagna guide for when you are ready to reheat your frozen lasagna.

Can You Cook Frozen Food In The Air Fryer?
YES. Frozen food in the air fryer is fantastic and I have cooked many, many different frozen foods now in the air fryer and I am yet to have a failure.
You can search our site by clicking here and check out all our frozen air fryer food and just see what potential the air fryer has for frozen food.
Can You Air Fry Stouffers Lasagna?
Yes, you can air fry stouffers lasagna and any other frozen lasagne too. You can also use the air fryer to reheat your lasagne.
Just make sure you have a frozen lasagne that is the right size to fit in the air fryer basket or the air fryer oven depending on what you are using.
Do You Call It Lasagne Or Lasagna?
Before we dive in, I just thought it would be interested to know, where you live what you call your lasagne.
I am British so it is always lasagne, yet I notice in the US it always ends with the a rather than the E.

Best Air Fryer For Frozen Food?
I recommend the Philips Air Fryer XL for cooking air fryer frozen food. It is what I use in nearly all my air fryer frozen food recipes.
It is also the best quality of air fryer and don’t forget Philips was the first brand to bring out an air fryer, 10 years ago now and their air fryer lasts a lot longer than the newer copycat brands.

Though if you plan to cook our air fryer frozen pizza, it will be too small. In this case the Power Air Fryer Oven would be a better size for you.

Can You Cook Frozen Lasagna In An Air Fryer?
Absolutely! Lasagna is perfect for cooking from frozen in the air fryer. Simply remove it from its outer packaging and add it to either your air fryer basket or the top shelf of an air fryer oven.
In the oven you can often forget about it, but with the air fryer it beeps, and you can quickly adjust the temperature and carry on cooking it.
The air fryer is also fantastic for melting the cheese on your lasagna.
Air Fryer Frozen Lasagna Ingredients

Lasagna – You can use any frozen lasagna in the air fryer. When we originally shared how to air fry a lasagna it was a large one from a supermarket in Portugal and this version is a smaller one from Tesco that fits well in the air fryer basket. I recommend you go with what fits your air fryer best and note bigger ones will take longer to cook.
Thermometer – I also recommend that you have a thermometer just to check the middle of the lasagna to make sure it is piping hot before serving. Because of the way the air circulates in an air fryer, it might look cooked but not be heated through in the centre.
Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this frozen lasagna air fryer recipe it has just been our Philips Air Fryer XL. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of air fryer recipes.
Plus, we recommend you head over to our air fryer recipes category as we have more than 500 tried and tested air fryer recipes and have been air frying for 10 years.
How To Cook Frozen Lasagna In Air Fryer?

- Load. Remove your frozen lasagne from its packaging and add it to the air fryer basket. Make sure any cling film that was attached to the lasagne has been removed.
- Defrost. Air fry first at 100c/215f for 10 minutes. This will help defrost the lasagne first before cooking it.
- Cook. Then air fry the lasagne for a further 26 minutes at 165c/330f.
- Test. Double check with a thermometer at the middle that it has hit the ideal temperature and if not cook a little longer.
- Serve. Then serve whilst still hot and enjoy!
And I am sure you can see now how easy it is cooking frozen laagna in the air fryer and why it has become one of my favourite frozen foods.
How Long To Cook Frozen Lasagna In Air Fryer?
The recommended air fryer cook time for frozen lasagne is 36 minutes. Which is still a lot less than the 60 minutes recommended on the packaging for the oven.
It takes this long in the air fryer because of how thick the lasagne is and wanting to get it heated through in the middle.
How To Reheat Lasagna In Air Fryer?
Did you know that you can also use the air fryer to reheat your lasagna leftovers? Reheating lasagna in air fryer is EASY!
Simply place leftover lasagna on a layer of foil (cooks quicker this way) and place in the air fryer.
Air fry for 5 minutes at 160c/320f and if not piping hot in the centre give it a couple of extra minutes.
Then use the sides of the foil to easily remove it from the air fryer basket.

Ahhhhhh!!!!! Help!
I bought a B&D Air Fry oven 3 days ago. I wanted to cook a 1kg frozen lasagne but alll the recipes give a temperature to cook at. With my air fry oven that’s not air frying – that’s baking. To air fry you set theTEMP KNOB to “AIRFRY” which automatically cooks at 450F. Air Fry (allegedly) conversion charts give a temp for every item! So air frying isn’t recommended for a frozen lasagne, since the temp will be set to high? Do other ovens not have it so you have to choose either the “AIRFRY” setting or the temp setting? I can “bake” it if I have to but I’d prefer to air fry most items. The recipes dont help at all.
Hi Peter,
An air fryer shouldn’t be that high a temperature and it shouldn’t be the only temperature. If that is the case i would recommend returning it and getting an air fryer oven with better choice of temperatures. For example if should be doing 250-400f. Otherwise you will struggle to follow hardly any air fryer recipes as most recipes require a 360f temperature.
kind regards
sam

Do I remove the plastic part on Top of it that you’re supposed to leave on if you bake it in the oven? EDIT: After doing the recipe like you said it turned out great have done it several times since thanks.
Hi Angela,
Yes we took it of just because in an air fryer most of the heat comes from the top and with the plastic cover on it will end up reflecting most of the heat away from the lasagne 🙂
I was looking for this same question about air frying a frozen lasgna with the plastic covering and did not know to leave it on or knot. thanks I just bought from Walmart a 17qt. OMMO air fryer and am learning how to use it. I found that with the chicken it seems to require more cooking time than is required. with a breast it said to cook at 180 for 15min. but it needed a lot more.
Hi Sandy,
Glad you are learning your air fryer and yes different air fryers cook foods at different times and temps. So we try to generalise the best we can with the couple of air fryers we use 🙂
Was that at 180 Fahrenheit or 180 Celsius? 180 Celsius would be 360 Fahrenheit, and that’s about right for chicken to cook.
Should you remove from wax paper container before cooking?
Hi Kerrie,
Sorry for the late reply. We had a plastic container for ours so we left it in it, the wax paper should be ok if it is heat proof 🙂
I HAVE AN AIR FRYER WITH 3 SHELVES + A BASKET (REPLACES SHELVES). I HAVE NOTICED RECIPES DO NOT TELL ME WHICH SHELF TO AIR FRY FROM? I AM USING THE MIDDLE SHELF MOST TIMES AND THE TOP SHELF TO BROWN WHEN NEEDED. ARE MOST FOODS COOKED ON THE MIDDLE SHELF?
Hi Earl,
You must have an air fryer oven, these are different from the standard basket air fryer which are more popular. Yes most foods are cooked on the middle shelf of the air fryer oven just like in a large oven. Here we have some recipes just for the air fryer oven:
https://recipethis.com/category/kitchen-gadget-recipes/air-fryer-oven/ 🙂
Hi Samantha, I live in Australia and I’m loving all your recipes as I’m a newbie, but have tried quite a few already and I find your descriptions easy to follow, also they’re “everyday” meals. I feel mainly because I have an Air Fryer with basket and not one of the “Air Fryer Ovens” with shelving, so I feel I fit right in with you and Dominic.
I love it here that you’ve given us a recipe on how you do an “Air Fryer Frozen Lasagne” which I didn’t know we could do as there’s only hubby and I now and these make a quick little meal with a side salad.
Thank you for giving me so many wonderful meal ideas that can be made so much quicker in the Air Fryer than “the ‘ol oven”. I only ever use the oven when our family comes for dinner now.
Keep all those “wonderful” recipes coming as after 55 yrs of marriage of was running out of ideas what to make next. Thank you!
Hi Josephine,
Thank you for the wonderful comments and i am really happy we are giving you new ideas and you are finding value in what we do 🙂
Kind Regards
Sam

I did the Iceland Beef and Pancetta al Forno Lasagne 450g in my Tower Vortex air fryer, followed the recipe with the 10 min defrost at 100 c and then 26 min at 160 c. It came out perfect.
