Welcome to how to make KFC chicken in the Airfryer recipe.
Happy 4th of July and I hope everyone around the world is having a lovely day today whether you’re American or not. I love Independence Day and it always makes me smile and makes me happy. It is that part of July before Portugal is full to bursting with tourists and when we can enjoy a really nice family day out without having to queue for absolutely everything.
I am a big fan of equality and that to me is what today is all about. Oh along with a LOT of barbeque food. Oh and sunshine. Well I say that and the only 4th of July I had stateside was when there was a hurricane and all it did was rain all day. I think that might be note to me not to go to Florida during hurricane season?
Anyway this month on Recipe This is all about copycat recipes and recipes that have come from being inspired by restaurants, processed foods and fast food. Plus (where possible) creating a healthier version on an unhealthy classic.
So with today being the 4th of July this week is all about KFC and recreating their classic food at home. All of these KFC copycat recipes that I plan to feature this week are perfect for barbeques or for serving with suppers for eating out in the garden. Let’s enjoy summer without the high calories and lets remember how nice making our own fast food can be.
You know exactly what is in it and the calories saving can be huge.
Kicking off the KFC copycat recipes today with the traditional chicken pieces but instead of deep frying them we have the Airfryer to rely on. I have also researched the herbs and spices at KFC to make a fantastic blend of homemade rub especially for your KFC food. Put it together in a jar and then save it for whenever you fancy making some healthy chicken with a real kick to it!How To Make #KFC Chicken In The #Airfryer via recipe_thisClick To Tweet
- Chop up your chicken into pieces. Chop up as you prefer your chicken but we love to have wings, thighs, drumsticks and breast or the breast with the wings. You can access our guide for chopping up a chicken here.
- In a bowl add your KFC spice blend to your bread crumbs. In another bowl have your flour and in a third your beaten egg.
- Roll your chicken pieces in the flour, the egg and then in the spicy bread crumbs.
- Place in the Airfryer at a temperature of 180c for 18 minutes and then check to make sure it is cooked in the middle.
