Frozen Ribs
When I think of ribs, I am thinking about making my favourite Asian ribs in the slow cooker. I would often have two slow cookers running on a Saturday night for a yummy supper for the family.
One slow cooker had slow cooker ribs, the other had slow cooker chicken wings. Then I would serve them with our air fryer derby cobb salad, and it became the favourite fakeaway at home. We had a gorgeous labusky back then and he would watch us all, just hoping that we would drop a chicken wing.
A few years later, I started making air fryer pork ribs instead. They were quick and simple and an easy alternative to the slow cooker.
But what I have never tried (well until now) is frozen ribs in the air fryer.
I wanted to try them, to see what they are like, whether they would taste nice in the air fryer and if I would eat them again.
Well, I tried frozen ribs in the air fryer, loved them and this is exactly how to cook frozen ribs so that you can do the same at home too.

Can You Cook Frozen Ribs In Air Fryer?
Yes, you can cook frozen ribs in the air fryer, and they are amazing.
They are crispy, like they are when you buy them from a restaurant and you can also cook from frozen your leftover ribs from the Chinese that you previously loaded into the freezer.
Frozen Pork Ribs
If I was to choose a favourite type of rib, to cook from frozen in the air fryer, it would be frozen pork ribs.
They cook the best from frozen, don’t carry too much fat that they make the air fryer smoke and best of all, are the most tender.
Avoid lamb ribs and beef ribs from frozen as they make the air fryer smoke a LOT.
Air Fryer Frozen Pork Ribs Ingredients
Ribs – You will need some frozen pork ribs to load into the air fryer. I bought two bags of them from Iceland and tried both to see how they compared. My favourite was the BBQ mini pork ribs.
Sauce – I also love to have some extra barbecue sauce. You can toss the ribs (once cooked) in the barbecue sauce and they will be even better than when they were first cooked.
Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in these frozen ribs in air fryer recipe it has just been our Cosori air fryer. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of air fryer recipes.

What is the wattage of Air Fryer?
Isn’t cooking spray bad for nonstick ?
Hi Stella,
We have several air fryers the first one is a Philips XL and wattage is: 1900w Our Cosori XL is: 1700w. The spray we use is extra virgin olive oil, we do not recommend to use the sprays like fry light as this can damage the inside of your air fryer 🙂
What about seasoning?!!
Hi Celene,
Yes you can add extra seasoning but as we had never had these before we didn’t know how much seasoning would already be on them, so we decided not to add any extra and they were fine for us without 🙂
I love ribs and this recipe was great for me. The ribs turned out just cooked and fell of the bone, many thanks.
