Cheesecake Easter Eggs

Sofia and Jorge can spend hours and hours watching You Tube Kids if you let them.

To our amusement most of the videos are of other families doing the same things they do at home.

Playing with toys, cooking and having fun family days out.

Though Easter last year, what grabbed their attention was a video making a cheesecake and filling an easter shell with it.

They called me over and I said we have a spare Twirl easter egg in the garage, do you want to try that recipe tomorrow.

I got some nods, the next day they grabbed their favourite aprons and with face painting from the day before, they looked perfect for some Easter fun.

We then used the Thermomix to mix the cheesecake mix as it is so much easier and even our Boxer Allie, joined the party as she loves something sweet, though someone needs to tell her its mine not hers!

What Are Stuffed Easter Eggs?

Stuffed Easter eggs, also known as cheesecake eggs, are when you split your easter egg shell in half and then fill the two halves with ingredients associated with a no-bake cheesecake.

Such as adding the crumbs for the bottom of the cheesecake (aka the biscuit base) followed by a no-bake cheesecake filling, then just like with a regular cheesecake you can then top it with some cute cheesecake decorations.

What Can I Fill My Easter Eggs With?

You can fill your Easter eggs when any no bake cheesecake filling. So think of any of your favourite chocolate and think of making a cheesecake filling from it.

We usually make our mini egg cheesecake recipe and then reduce the ingredients to allow them to fit in the easter eggs and then this becomes our go to recipe.

Is Cheesecake Made With Raw Eggs?

Yes, if it is a baked cheesecake. No, if you are making a no-bake cheesecake. A baked cheesecake needs the raw eggs in order to cook and set.

Whilst a no-bake cheesecake is all about double cream (known as heavy cream in the US) and how it is whipped to a thick consistency and then left in the fridge to set overnight.

If you are allergic to eggs then a no-bake cheesecake is ideal for you.

Which Is Better Baked Or No Bake Cheesecake?

I prefer the taste and texture of a no-bake cheesecake. But a baked cheesecake is easy to make and many complain that their no-bake cheesecake went wrong.

But if you look through the photos its all about that no-bake cheesecake filling being nice and thick like you see below. Achieve this and you have a great cheesecake.

Easter Egg Cheesecake Recipe Ingredients

Easter Egg Cheesecake Recipe Ingredients

Biscuits – For the base of your filled easter eggs we recommend some digestive biscuits. You can quickly crush them using the Thermomix and they taste so good.  Then along with the biscuits you will need some butter to mix with it.

Cheese – Philadelphia cream cheese is the BEST and I couldn’t imagine a cheesecake easter egg with another soft cheese.

Sugars – Then for sugars we recommend icing sugar (confectioners sugar) as it works really well on the cheesecake taste.

Cream – Then for that creamy texture and to make a filled easter egg set we are adding some double cream (heavy cream).

Vanilla – We also added some vanilla extract for extra flavour.

Chocolate – Of course, this cheesecake easter egg recipe is made from Easter egg supplies giving you a lot of choice of what chocolate you include.

Decorations – Then we finished off our cheesecake easter eggs recipe with decorating the cheesecake with some mini eggs, a chocolate bunny and a few other extras including some sticky sauce.

Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this easter egg cheesecake uk recipe it has just been our thermomix.

How To Make Easter Egg Cheesecake?

We like to make it easier and to mix the ingredients in our Thermomix. If you don’t have a Thermomix you can use a kitchen aid mixer, a regular food processor or even an electrical hand mixer.

  • Separating. Bring the whole chocolate egg to room temperature so its softer and then use a knife to separate into 2. Then place in the fridge for 30 minutes to harden it up and make it easier to add the fillings.
  • Crumbs. I like to start by making the biscuit base. Add to the Thermomix your digestive biscuits and mix until it resembles breadcrumbs. Then add in melted butter stir and add to the bottom of your chocolate egg shells.
  • Mix. Then add cream cheese to the Thermomix with the icing sugar and mix at medium speed until creamy. Then add the double cream (heavy cream) and the vanilla. Carry on mixing and then scrape the edges with a silicone spatula. Finally add in the chocolate and give it one last mix.
  • Cool. Next pour your thick cheesecake mix into your chocolate shells and flatten down with your spatula for a neat look. Then drizzle with your favourite sauce and decorate with eggs. Place into the fridge for at least 12 hours though 24 hours is best.

And I am sure you can see now how simple and easy this easter cheese egg recipe is and why you should be doing the same.
