You know what I love most about the instant pot? It is simplicity. Its that you can dump food into the instant pot, and it cooks it fast.
You might need to sauté your food first, or stir in cheese at the end, but it does the job much quicker than regular cooking.
You can also use frugal ingredients knowing that when they are pressure cooked in the instant pot, they will come out tender and amazing.

You can also use any pressure cooker that you like. I am using my Instant Pot Duo 8 quart. But that is because its already out on my kitchen worktop and because I adore it.
I was given my Instant Pot back in 2017 and have been in love ever since.

Instant Pot Lamb Chops & Potatoes
I don’t know about you, but I love meat and potatoes. There is just something about the combo and how they both shout out COMFORT FOOD.
I love roast chicken with roast potatoes, fried chicken and fries, shepherd’s pie, bangers and mash, and the list goes on and on.
I love to do the same with lamb chops and love to eat instant pot lamb chops with potatoes.
But what is the best way?
What I do is cook instant pot lamb chops and then in the air fryer cook roast potatoes.
Or if I want to make a meal out of it, I will do roast potatoes and frozen vegetables in the air fryer and then serve the lamb chops with it.

As you can see from the photo, we have pressure cooker lamb chops smothered in lamb gravy, served with roast potatoes, roasted carrots, and roasted parsnips.
Then note, that the carrots and parsnips are from a frozen bag, so even quicker for the prep.

- Brown onion and garlic.
- Deglaze with wine.
- Add lamb chops.
- Season well.
- Add stock.
- Pressure cook.
How Long To Cook Lamb Chops In Instant Pot?
The instant pot lamb chops cooking time is JUST 3 minutes of pressure cooking time, followed by a 10 minute natural pressure release.
The reason why we cook lamb chops like this is because you want them to sit to make them as tender as possible.
But because we are pressure cooking lamb chops in liquid, they cook faster, meaning that they only need three minutes of pressure cook time.
However, if you are cooking frozen instant pot lamb chops go with a cook time of 5 minutes.
Instant Pot Sous Vide Lamb Chops
What feels like a lifetime ago, we did sous vide lamb chops and they were amazing. I couldn’t get over how tender the lamb chops were and its similar to instant pot lamb chops.
If you have got an instant pot with a sous vide button and would rather do sous vide lamb chops, then follow the cook times and instructions in that recipe instead.

Instant Pot Lamb Chops
- Peel and dice your onion and load into the instant pot. Sauté with extra virgin olive oil until the onion starts to soften.
- Deglaze the instant pot with red wine and cancel the sauté.
- Season your lamb chops and load them into the instant pot and let them sit on the red wine.
- Add stock to the instant pot and place the lid on the instant pot and set the valve to sealing. Cook for 3 minutes on pressure cook/manual followed by 10 minutes of natural pressure release.
- When the time is up press cancel and release any remaining pressure and then remove the lid.
- Put the lamb chops to one side and strain the leftovers so that you can get rid of the lamb fat and make a gravy from what is left.
- Serve the leftover lamb gravy over your lamb chops and serve with preferred sides.
