Choc Chip Cookies

I remember the first chocolate chip cookies I ever had. It was those cheap as chips ones from the local supermarket.

They were okay, but as cookies go, they were nothing special. They were crispy rather than chewy and was not the gooey style of chocolate chip cookies that we all love.

From time to time, I would treat myself to the soft and chewy cookies that Cadbury’s did such as the giant Cadbury’s caramel ones.

But I hated the price tag that came with a cookie that was so delicious.

So as soon as I got into air frying, I made my own. I started a trend of making air fryer chocolate chip cookies and love how cheap they are to make. How chewy they are and best of all how you can dump them into the air fryer and forget about them.

Whilst I use the air fryer to speed up the cooking process, what if I used my Thermomix to make the cookie dough and speed up the prep process too?

Well, that is what you have today. The cookie dough is made in the Thermomix and the cookies are then cooked in the air fryer.

Can You Make Choc Chip Cookies In A Thermomix?

Yes, you sure can. You can dump your cookie dough ingredients into a Thermomix and the genius of this kitchen gadget will make perfect cookie dough for you.

You also don’t have to limit yourself to chocolate chip cookies either. You can make our white chocolate chip cookies, make oatmeal cookies or even cute cookies that are loaded up with your favourite chocolate, such as smartie cookies.

Thermomix Choc Chip Cookies No Egg

I am always amused when people ask for a chocolate chip cookies recipe without egg. That is because a classic British chocolate chip cookie doesn’t have any egg in it at all.

So, there is absolutely no need to adjust it for an egg free diet.

Thermomix Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you prefer you can also use the Thermomix to do chunky chocolate chip cookies.

You can use a chocolate bar, and then let the Thermomix chop it into chunks.

This can also be a big money saver compared to how much it costs to buy chocolate chips.

How To Shape Chocolate Chip Cookies?

The easiest way to shape your choc chip cookie dough is to make them into balls.

How To Shape Chocolate Chip Cookies

It makes them easier to air fry and then they will be flat and just stuck together after they have been cooked.

Then once you allow your choc chip cookies to cool its easy to break them up and create a plate of chewy chocolate chip cookies.

Thermomix Recipe #1

As I write this, the Thermomix is my latest kitchen gadget. It joins my air fryer, instant pot pressure cooker, slow cooker, pie maker, and soup maker, plus many others and I am looking forward to seeing how the Thermomix makes cooking even easier.

For fun I am sharing with you behind the scenes Thermomix recipes of the first 30 things I made with my new kitchen toy.

That way you can see if the Thermomix is for you and if these recipes will fit in what you like to make.

Today’s Thermomix Choc Chip Cookies is Thermomix recipe #1.

My thoughts on Thermomix cookies:

We used the scales – The first time we have had weighing scales built into a kitchen gadget and need to tell Jorge to not sit right near it as they are very sensitive.

Loved the cookie dough – It felt like the Thermomix cookie dough was a lot smoother compared to what I normally achieve with a standard hand mixer.

I need to stop bingeing – Just like little Jorge (he is 5 BTW) I can not stop eating the cookie dough and prefer it over the cookies. So it would have made more cookies than you see, if I had self control, which I don’t!

But most importantly, would I recommend making choc chip cookies in the Thermomix? Yes, I would. You could use the Thermomix to chop chocolate into chunks if you wanted to, it weighs it for you and the creamy cookie dough is AMAZING!

Ingredients For Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients For Chocolate Chip Cookies

Flour – I recommend using self raising flour in these choc chip cookies. It will make them expand a little and look like giant cookies rather than small ones.

Sugar – For the best choc chip cookies I recommend using a combination of both brown sugar and caster sugar. If you use just brown sugar, I find that they are not quick sweet enough and this gives a great balance.

Butter – Then I recommend you use butter. It can be either salted or unsalted butter. I have tried Thermomix cookies with either and don’t really notice much of a difference going unsalted.

Flavour – Then for extra flavour I recommend using vanilla essence and golden syrup. Or you can swap the golden syrup for honey, maple syrup etc.

Chocolate – Then you will need your favourite chocolate and we all have a different option on what makes the best choc chip cookie dough. I love to make Thermomix Cadbury choc chip cookies, but you might have a different preference. I opted for some classic baking chocolate chips as well as some Dairy Milk little bars. These little bars break up easily and are good for making chunky cookies with too.

Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this Thermomix cookie recipe it has just been our TM6 and its wonderful for many types of baking recipes.

Plus, we recommend you head over to our Thermomix recipes category as we will be adding Thermomix recipes as we try new ones for you.

How To Make Choc Chip Cookies?

Thermomix choc chip cookies step by step
  • Weigh. Using the weighing scales, weigh the butter and sugars and add the lid.
  • Blend. Next set the blender setting and blend until you have a soft and creamy mixture. Gradually add in the rest of the wet ingredients and mix again. Scrape the edges of your Thermomix.
  • Dry. Next add in your flour and blend until everything is well mixed.
  • Add. Then add in your chocolate chips as well as any other chocolate that you are adding. Mix well before removing the cookie dough from the Thermomix.
  • Cook. Then make into cookie dough balls and place into the air fryer. Air fry for 8 minutes before allowing to cool before tucking in.

And I am sure you can see now how easy it is to prepare choc chip cookies with the Thermomix. And how you can do the same in your kitchen.

What Thermomix Settings Do You Use?

The easiest way to do the cookie dough in your Thermomix is to use the blender settings.

Click on the blender button and then set it to speed 6 for 30 seconds.

Then each time you need to add an ingredient and blend, just simply do speed 6 for 30 seconds. Such as when you add in the flour, or when you cream together the butter and the sugar.
