Are you ready for my air fryer healthy flapjacks recipe? Delicious pieces of heavenly healthy flapjacks that are gluten free, made with healthier sugars and so addictive this will become your new air fryer healthy snack.

I live in Portugal. This means that we are limited at getting a lot of our classic foods that we loved and idolised from the UK. One of those places that we idolised was the British bakery.
There is just something truly special about the British bakery and how amazing it was to go in and choose your favourite slice of deliciousness and then eat it in a little bag or in a pretty box.
While we were back in England during the summer one of our first stops was a trip to Cooplands.
I used to visit Cooplands a lot when I was growing up and whether it was warm sausage rolls or cakes and biscuits, they always tasted amazing.
One of the first things I bought was the classic British Flapjack. It would always be half dipped in chocolate and OMG you would eat it in silence because you got lost in the foodie moment.

Healthy Flapjacks Recipe
There are four main ingredients that make up a classic flapjack. They are:
- Rolled Oats
- Margarine
- White Sugar
- Golden Syrup
Though in more modern versions white sugar has been replaced with other sugars and the super unhealthy margarine has been replaced with butter.

But I wanted to create a healthy flapjacks recipe that I would not feel guilty giving to my children and so that they had something yummy and sweet for picnics at the beach in the summer or for when the sweet tooth was calling.
I replaced mine with:
But not just any gluten free rolled oats but my favourite Bobs Red Mill Gluten Free Oats. I use them all the time and don’t give me that horrible bloated feeling that I have been used to for so long.

I also use butter as margarine in my mind is like the devil. So disgusting and unnatural and should come with a warning on its packaging.
I also use brown sugar rather than the nasty white stuff and it gives it a much nicer flavour.
Then for the best ingredient of them all, out comes honey instead of golden syrup. A big addiction here in Portugal and food just tastes better if you add a squirt of honey!
Plus, if you want to spend LESS on your grocery shopping, then I highly recommend making yourself some healthy flapjacks. That is because my healthy flapjacks recipe is literally pantry staples that you already have in.
How To Make Healthy Flapjacks In The Air Fryer

Well not only does my healthy flapjacks recipe use just quick pantry staples, but it also has hardly any washing up!
I mean who honestly likes washing up? And wouldn’t you rather be enjoying your food, rather than thinking about all the washing up you must do?
I just used one little baking pan that I secured on top of my air fryer grilling pan inside of the air fryer.
Just look for a pan like this one, that will fit nicely over your grilling pan and then make your flapjacks exclusively on it.
Pour the butter over and let the butter melt in the air fryer, then squirt the honey into it and add all the other ingredients and mix it in the dish.

But the best thing of all, is that thanks to the butter going in first, it will grease proof the dish for you!
