Can You Do Cracking In The Air Fryer?

Yes, you can air fry pork crackling and you will love it. You can add to the air fryer your pork rinds, or you might call it pork skin, and then let the air fryer work its magic.

Because pork skin is very high fat it doesn’t need any extra oil to make it super crispy, it just does that from the fat in the skin.

I have come across a lot of foods with a lot of different names, and air fryer crackling is one of those things.

Pork crackle is also known as pork cracklings. Crackle is the nickname that it is often given and is the crispy part of the pork roast that many people look forward to it.

When you air fry pork crackle you are really air frying pork skin and it turns to a crackle once cooked.

Pork Rinds Vs Crackles

When you air fry pork rinds, it is another reference to air fryer pork skin. You may say air fryer pork skin if you live in the USA yet here in the UK we are more likely to say pork rinds.

Pork scratchings are a popular pub snack in the UK and I always remember my grandparents loving them when I was growing up.

Imagine you take the air fryer pork crackle, chop it up and give it an extra air fry, then that is your pork scratching recipe.

It’s like what us Brits call crisps or what Americans call chips that’s why pork scratching is more well known as pork crackling chips.

How To Make Pork Skin Crispy?

The best way to make pork skin crispy is to air fry it. You also don’t need any extra ingredients because the magic of the air fryer will make the pork skin crispy.

THANK YOU! i didn’t think to do this and have been fighting with them in the oven. A little tip: if you score the pork rind on the skin side (it’s tough so a butchers knife will only just do it) in a diamond pattern it’ll make it easer to break up when cooked. You can just put it in a ziplock and smash it!
