I was out shopping in Morrison’s and came across morrisons pork rind.

It was incredibly cheap at just £1.06 for a package of it. I assumed it was trimmed from the pork roasts that they were selling for people that wanted to buy the pork without the rind.

I had an idea….

For all those of you that just want the pork crackling and don’t care for the pork roast and just want a pork scratchings snack….what if we just cooked air fryer pork crackling from these cheap pork rinds?

Well, I did just that and put them all in the air fryer.

They turned out amazing and our new air fryer pork crackling recipe was born.

We also chopped them into smaller pieces and created an air fryer pork scratchings recipe for you too.

All you need to do is decide….

Because pork skin is very high fat it doesn’t need any extra oil to make it super crispy, it just does that from the fat in the skin.

I have come across a lot of foods with a lot of different names, and air fryer crackling is one of those things.

How To Make Pork Crackling From Skin?

  • Place. Add rolled up pork skin into the air fryer basket. Spreading it out if you have more than one.
  • Cook. Next air fry pork crackling for 30 minutes at 180c/360, turning the crackling in air fryer at the halfway point.
  • Crisp. Then to make the pork skin crackling more crispy air fry for another 5 minutes at 200c/400f.

How Long Does Crackle Take In Air Fryer?

The recommended air fryer pork crackling time is 35 minutes. This produces perfect crispy pork crackling that you would have at a restaurant served with your pork roast.

Though you will need to add a step below if you would like to make air fryer pork scratchings.

How To Make Pork Scratchings?

If you would like air fryer pork scratchings you just need to add an extra step. After the 35 minutes are up and using a big knife, chop the pork crackling recipe into chunks and then air fry crackling for a further 5 minutes at 200c/400f.

  • Place the rolled-up pork rinds into the air fryer basket. Air fry for 30 minutes at 180c/360f turning halfway through for an even crisp on the crackling.

    THANK YOU! i didn’t think to do this and have been fighting with them in the oven. A little tip: if you score the pork rind on the skin side (it’s tough so a butchers knife will only just do it) in a diamond pattern it’ll make it easer to break up when cooked. You can just put it in a ziplock and smash it!
