Frozen Sausage Rolls In Air Fryer

I love warm sausage rolls. It goes back to childhood and living in a small seaside town in Yorkshire and sausage rolls being sold at every bakery. And trust me, our town had a lot of bakeries.

I would then walk down the street with my warm sausage roll, thinking that it is the best bakery food ever invented.

That was my opinion in the 80’s, again in the 90’s, then returning to Yorkshire in the last few months, my opinion is still the same.

Then beyond the bakery I loved that in the summer for beach or park picnics or in the winter at Christmas time, I could grab a bag of frozen sausage rolls, load them into the oven and bake them and then enjoy.

But that was then and now I have been air frying for 10 years and can enjoy air fryer frozen sausage rolls.

They are even better than the oven thanks to the crispness the air fryer can do and how the fat goes to the bottom, making the sausage rolls less greasy.

If you have ever wanted to cook frozen sausage rolls in the air fryer, then this is how it is done.

Plus, as well as our free newsletter, we also have a free air fryer mini course. It is ideal for air fryer beginners or those that want to get more confident with their air fryer. The free course runs for 5 days with a new lesson delivered each day to your inbox.

Can You Cook Frozen Sausage Rolls In The Air Fryer?

Yes, you can. Though note, I wouldn’t just load an air fryer with frozen mini sausage rolls. It is best to add a layer of foil, otherwise your air fryer will be the messiest and dirtiest that it has ever been.

Can You Air Fry Greggs Sausage Rolls?

Yes, you can. Greggs sausage rolls can either be reheated if you bought them from the bakery, or you can cook frozen Greggs sausage rolls from Iceland in the air fryer.

The choice is totally yours.

We have of course done both and we even have videos for both. Check out our air fryer frozen sausage rolls video and our Greggs Magic Bag video.

How Long Are Greggs Sausage Rolls Good For?

Gregg’s sausage rolls are good for 2 days in the fridge (if already cooked and bought from the bakery), 1 day if from a Greggs Magic Bag and then 3 months if you have bought Gregg’s sausage rolls from Iceland.

Should Gregg’s Sausage Rolls Be Kept In The Fridge?

Yes, they should. Because Gregg’s sausage rolls include meat in them, they should not be left out at room temperature and for food safety are much better off stored in the fridge.

Or if you are not planning to eat your Gregg’s for a few days, they are better off packaged and loaded into the freezer.

Rolls – It’s all about your favourite frozen sausage rolls. You can use frozen party sausage rolls in air fryer, Greggs frozen sausage rolls in air fryer, or even Cooplands. The choice is yours!

Egg – We also recommend some egg wash for the tops of your sausage rolls. It gives a fantastic golden glow to your pastry, much better than olive oil does.

Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in our air fryer sausage rolls from frozen, it has just been our Philips Air Fryer. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of air fryer recipes.

  • Cook. Air fry your sausage rolls for 8 minutes and then add extra egg wash.
  • Again. Air fry again for a further 4 minutes at a higher temperature before serving.

Reheat Frozen Sausage Rolls In Air Fryer

You can also use the air fryer to reheat your frozen already cooked sausage rolls. This is fantastic for when you buy sausage rolls from Gregg’s and load them in the freezer for that other time.

Simply load the frozen sausage rolls into the air fryer, set the time to 8 minutes and the temperature to 160c/320f.

How Long To Air Fry Frozen Sausage Rolls?

Frozen sausage rolls air fryer time is different when air frying mini sausage rolls than it is air frying Gregg’s sausage rolls.

This is because of the big size difference.

Frozen mini sausage rolls took JUST 8 minutes whilst we found that the Gregg’s full size ones were done in 12 minutes.

But this also depends on the power of your air fryer and whether it is preheated or not.
