Cheesy Bacon Potatoes. Let me show you how easy it is to cook air fryer cheesy bacon potatoes. Loaded with crispy potatoes, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese and onion.
You will love the simplicity of this air fryer ranch potato recipe. The air fryer roast potatoes cook first, then the bacon, before we turn the air fryer into a foil packet dinner and load it up with cheddar cheese.

Roasted Potatoes With Cheese & Bacon
I had an idea.
I was in the middle of making a few different recipes for Recipe This. I had just done our air fryer brown derby cobb salad and our air fryer bacon aioli and had some spare bacon.
I had also had an email that day, asking for the best way to cook cheesy potatoes in the air fryer, but without a big washing up job. I had told the lady in question that you could use foil just like we use to capture the butter in our air fryer frozen corn on the cob. But I also wanted to give her some photos and show her just how simple it was.
Before I knew it, I had made these roasted potatoes with bacon and cheese in the air fryer, and they were gone in seconds.
The cheese melted perfectly, the air fryer didnโt need scrubbing to get the cheese off and the kids asked when we were making them again.
If you have some spare bacon, cheddar cheese and potatoes, then I urge you to make this in the air fryer, because it is AMAZING.

Plus, as well as our free newsletter, we also have a free air fryer mini course. It is ideal for air fryer beginners or those that want to get more confident with their air fryer. The free course runs for 5 days with a new lesson delivered each day to your inbox.
Bacon Cheddar Potato Wedges
You can also follow this same system to make bacon cheddar potato wedges instead. Instead of chopping your potatoes into air fryer ranch potato sizes, you can keep them in wedges and then copy our cook times and temps from either our air fryer sweet potato wedges, or our regular air fryer potato wedges.
Or even better, for a great idea. Follow our air fryer frozen potato wedges recipe and then load up the air fryer with bacon. Then load them onto foil for the cheese and you have a no prep version.
Baby Potatoes With Cheese & Bacon
Or you can also do this recipe with baby potatoes. Simply load baby potatoes into a mixing bowl and there is no need to peel or dice.
Then follow our air fryer baby potatoes recipe for the time and temp and then do everything the same way as I am showing you today.
I have to say that I am a HUGE fan of baby potatoes in the air fryer and they are a total life changer.
Air Fryer Ranch Potatoes
If I were to describe the air fryer potatoes that I am showing you today, I would say that it is loosely based on air fryer ranch potatoes.
I canโt get ranch seasoning where I live, but if you can, replace our seasonings with ranch potatoes and you have a cheese and bacon ranch potatoes treat.
Air Fryer Cheese Potatoes Ingredients
Potatoes Like I have mentioned above, you can use regular roast potatoes, potato wedges or baby potatoes in this recipe. Just note that the cook times will alter depending on the size of your potato. I recommend checking your potato on a fork to check that it is tender, prior to transferring to foil to melt the cheese.
Bacon โ When you make air fryer cheese potatoes it is all about the bacon. You can dice some bacon or be lazy and buy bacon bits.
Onion โ Onion is not essential, but it does make your air fryer cheesy potatoes more flavoursome. You can also swap it for peppers if you prefer.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil โ We use a splash of extra virgin olive oil to help make the potatoes crispy and also to stop the potatoes from drying out. You can also swap this for avocado oil if you prefer.
Cheese โ I am British born and love English cheese (well apart from the blue) and nothing beats having cheddar cheese melted over your potatoes. You can of course swap cheddar cheese for any cheese that melts well.
Seasonings โ I am going with a ranch style seasoning here with dill, garlic, parsley and chives. If you have a packet of ranch mix, you can use that instead and then just add extra salt and pepper.
Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this air fryer recipe, it has just been our Philips Air Fryer. We have this one and its wonderful for family dinners as well as for our favourite air fryer sides.
How To Make Roasted Potatoes With Cheese & Bacon?

- Peel and slice. Peel and dice your potatoes and onion and load into a mixing bowl with everything but the cheese and bacon.
- Air fry. Load your potatoes into the air fryer and air fry for 15 minutes at 160c/320f. This lower temperature helps to cook the potatoes and stops them from getting dry.
- Bacon. Next give the air fryer a shake and add in the bacon. Air fry for an extra 5 minutes to cook the bacon.
- Foil. Transfer the potatoes to silver foil and place in the air fryer. Add cheese over the potatoes and bacon and cook for a further 5 minutes at 200c/400f.
Like I mentioned above, thanks to the foil the clean up operation is easy. This is how easy they come out of the air fryer:

What To Serve With Air Fryer Cheesy Potatoes?
I love these air fryer cheese potatoes as the side dish for Friday or Saturday night suppers. I usually serve potatoes when having Ninja Foodi whole chicken or a slow cooker chicken casserole.
Or another idea is as a great side dish to go with pizza night with our bread machine pizza dough.
