Air Fryer Frozen Potato Wedges
Back in 2019 we had great fun showing you lots of different ways to cook frozen food in the air fryer.
Everything from air fryer frozen sweet potato fries to air fryer frozen fish sticks was covered.
We did it for the weekends and one of those recipes was todays air fryer frozen potato wedges.
Not something I would normally cook from frozen as I much prefer my air fryer potato wedges recipe that is cooked from scratch.
We did them with some sweet potato wedges that we had bought from frozen from our local supermarket.
They were crispy and yummy, then recently we went back to buy another bag for a recipe video. But this time we used frozen white potato wedges.
The same great taste and texture and note that if you want to learn how to cook air fryer frozen wedges, you can use any type of potato wedges.
Why Air Fryer Frozen Potato Wedges
I mentioned yesterday when I was talking about air fryer frozen sweet potato fries, that itโs the shape of them and the season of sweet potatoes that drives me crazy.
With white potatoes you can choose any time of the year and always get some of a great shape, grab your vegetable peeler and it have your air fryer fries on it no time at all.
But with sweet potatoes it is a different story and being able to get a perfectly sized sweet potato to make sweet potato wedges with is hard work.
Plus, you also have to scrub the skin and season it and oil it and in the end, it is quicker to cook a roast chicken!
And that is exactly why air fryer frozen potato wedges are the way to go.
Frozen Potato Wedges In Air Fryer
The frozen food brand that we used to make our air fryer frozen sweet potato wedges was Iceland.
Living in Portugal we lack a lot of frozen foods as itโs all about everything being fresh but we managed to go to the English supermarket here and get a bag of potato wedges to try out.
Looking at the packaging, there is not much difference between the air fryer frozen potato wedges that we bought and what we saw online for other brands.
Our bag is 600g in size, is seasoned with sunflower oil as well as with some delicious spices including paprika and OMG tastes so good.
If you have a different brand of frozen potato wedges, donโt worry as they are all very similar.
How Long To Cook Frozen Potato Wedges In Air Fryer?
I recommend a frozen potato wedges cook time of 17 minutes. I also recommend cooking frozen potato wedges at two different temperatures.
I call this my dual potato cook time.
What I do is cook the frozen wedges for 12 minutes first at 160c/320f. This ensures the middle of the potatoes cooks well, but itโs not overcooked.
Then I increase the temperature to 200c/400f and give them a spray with extra virgin olive oil. Then cook the potato wedges for an extra 5 minutes in the air fryer.
You then have perfectly crispy air fryer frozen potato wedges.
