Air Fryer Pierogies

Welcome to air fryer frozen pierogies. The latest addition to our air fryer frozen food recipe collection here at Recipe This.

If you have not browsed the recipe archives yet at Recipe This I recommend you start with our air fryer frozen foods.

Our readers love our air fryer frozen egg rolls, air fryer frozen chicken nuggets, air fryer frozen French fries and air fryer chicken wings.

But today is all about frozen pierogies in the air fryer.

I first heard of pierogies when Poland joined the EU. Just like we moved to Portugal from England for better opportunities, a couple of decades ago many Polish people moved to England for the same reason.

Up until that point I had never tried any Eastern European food and OMG it was delicious.

I remember how excited I would get when another Polish supermarket opened, and it was like a treasure trove learning lots of new food.

But out of all the Eastern European food I tried when in England it was the pierogies that stood out from the crowd.

However, they never tasted as good when you heated them at home compared to a Polish café and that is why pierogies were meant to be air fried.

Can You Air Fry Pierogies?

Yes, you sure can air fry pierogies. Whether that is fresh pierogies that you have just made yourself, or frozen ones such as Mrs T’s pierogies, they are all ideal for cooking in the air fryer.

Can You Air Fry Frozen Pierogies?

Absolutely! Not only can you air fry frozen pierogies but they cook much better than other methods. You see the traditional and popular method for cooking pierogies is to parboil them.

You need to parboil your pierogies to an exact time and often your frozen pierogies will come out soggy and taste rather awful.

But forget the method of parboiling when it comes to air fryer pierogies. Instead they are tossed in extra virgin olive oil and come out crispy and yummy and don’t have a rubbery of soggy texture.

Can You Cook Frozen Pierogies In A Ninja Foodi?

Yes, you can make frozen pierogies in the Ninja Foodi or the Ninja Air Fryer, simply use the air fryer function and then you can follow this recipe exactly the same.

That’s what I love about the Ninja Foodi air fryer, that its very easy to follow all air fryer recipes using it.

Best Way To Cook Mrs T’s Pierogies

Over the years, we have used a lot of different methods to cook Mrs T’s pierogies and have found that the air fryer is by far, the best method.

The air fryer does a fantastic job of heating them up fast without needing to preheat. The air fryer also stops the pierogi from getting dry and drying out and I just love how fast and hassle free they are.

What is your favourite Mrs T’s Pierogies filling? Is it classic cheddar? Cheddar medley? Cheese pizza? Feta and spinach? Or do you have a bit of everything in your freezer?

Though today at Recipe This we are cooking Mrs T’s Classic Cheddar Frozen Pierogies.

Rest assured that any flavour of Mrs T’s Pierogies can be cooked in the air fryer. You can also go with another brand of pierogies that is a similar size.

As then you can use the same cooking time and temperature.

Can You Recommend An Air Fryer?

I often get asked which air fryers I recommend and which one I use. In 95% of our air fryer recipes, we use either the Philips Air Fryer XL or the Cosori XL because they are the best ones, we have found out of many air fryers we have tried over the years. You can click on the links above and read up on them. But if you would rather have a dual air fryer we recommend this Ninja Dual (make sure you order the right one as not all are good) or the Philips Dual.

Perfection! The directions led to a fully cooked, crispy pierogi. I usually boil then pan fry in butter and onions; the air fryer saved me so many steps and clean up was easy since I used a liner. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Hi Sarah,

We recommend not to cook at 400 as in our opinion they would not be cooked in the middle, we like to cook mostly on 180c/360f as then the food cooks in the middle and not just on the outside 🙂

3 stars because I can still eat them but I won’t be making these this way again. I get its a healthier option, but ill stick with frying them from frozen in a pan of butter lol its a better flavor profile that way.
