Cranberry Sauce In Instant Pot
Tis the season for me to get most excited about food and everything I can make and everything I can eat.
September through to December is my favourite time of the year. You have pumpkin season first and I can enjoy loads of air fryer pumpkin and instant pot spaghetti squash, then its Halloween so you get all the kids candy, then before you know it, everyone is talking about thanksgiving, eating loads of instant pot turkey breast and pairing it with some cranberry sauce.
Though as a kid I never got the big deal over cranberry sauce. And I don’t think I ever tried my mum’s cranberry sauce at all. I was always too busy focusing on roast potatoes and making sure my dad didn’t get the last one (he always did!), the veggie bake and plenty of stuffing. In fact, if I could just have those 3 items I was happy, so the cranberry sauce was something beautiful looking and very rarely eaten.
So after Thanksgiving last year, when one of our readers asked us to make them the best instant pot cranberry sauce recipe, I was ready to taste test loads of cranberry sauce and make it in the instant pot.

Can You Make Cranberry Sauce In The Instant Pot?
Yes, you can make homemade cranberry sauce in the instant pot and its delicious and also very easy to make.
It’s a bit like when you make pressure cooker jam. Such as our instant pot strawberry jam or instant pot raspberry jam. The instant pot is loaded with sugar and the fruit (i.e. cranberries) then the instant pot does the hard work so you don’t have to.
Instant Pot Cranberry Sauce Without Orange Juice
It is very common for orange juice to be used in cranberry sauce. We have tried cranberry sauce with orange juice and found it to be very bitter, so we made it again without.
If you don’t want orange juice in your cranberry sauce, then this recipe is perfect for you.
Instant Pot Cranberry Sauce Frozen Cranberries
When we were making our instant pot cranberry sauce, it was at the time of the year when cranberries were out of season and not looking their best.
So, what we did instead was made our pressure cooker cranberry sauce with frozen cranberries. We bought two small bags of frozen cranberries from Tesco and they were delicious.

Cranberry Sauce Instant Pot Ingredients
Cranberries – We used two bags of frozen cranberries that we bought from the supermarket. You can use the same or you can go with fresh.
Sugar – For the best instapot cranberry sauce we recommend granulated sugar. You can swap this for a healthier sugar such as maple syrup or honey, but we found the results are not as good.
Water – I also recommend adding in some water to help your cranberries go to pressure. This can be swapped for a fruit juice, but I prefer it with water.
Seasoning. Then for seasonings, I recommend keeping your cranberry sauce recipe simple and using mixed spice and nutmeg.
Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this cranberry sauce in instant pot recipe it has just been our Instant Pot. We have this one and it’s my favourite and great for a lot of different instant pot quick recipes.
Plus, we recommend you head over to our instant pot recipes category as we have many electric pressure cooker recipes and have been using instant pots for 5 years.
How To Make Cranberry Sauce In An Instant Pot?

Cranberry Sauce Beyond The Holidays
We all think turkey and cranberry sauce and the holidays and then cranberry sauce gets forgotten about for another year.
But cranberry sauce is also fantastic paired with other meats and served beyond Thanksgiving & Christmas.
For example, you can make the following with your cranberry sauce and the instant pot:
Instant Pot Pork Loin With Cranberry Sauce – Make our instant pot frozen pork loin and serve it with your cranberry sauce.
Instant Pot Pork Tenderloin With Cranberry Sauce – I love instant pot frozen pork tenderloin and have made it several times and OMG the pork tenderloin is so tender and juicy. Its even better when you pair it with some cranberry sauce.
Instant Pot Pulled Pork With Cranberry Barbecue Sauce – Or another option is to make some pulled pork and then stir the cranberry sauce into your barbecue sauce. It will then create a sweeter barbecue sauce and tastes so good.
Plus, of course this is a freezable cranberry sauce recipe, and you can freeze it in ice cube trays like we do in our instant pot frozen veggie stock and then its perfect for making these pork dishes above out of season.
