Spaghetti Squash In Instant Pot
I waited a long, long time to be able to finally share with you how to cook spaghetti squash in the instant pot.
When most people bought the instant pot back in 2016/17 they were all talking about spaghetti squash and how it was a miracle with how easy it is to pressure cook.
But of course, we lived in Portugal and there was not a spaghetti squash in sight. I then waited and waited. A kind reader then sent me some spaghetti squash seeds to make my own, and we had severe flooding and they flooded before hitting full size.
So, I waited, and I dreamed about the time I could try spaghetti squash for the first time. Well October 2021 was the first time and wow I fell in love with spaghetti squash, and the hubby who hates pumpkin and most winter squash rolled his eyes and never understood my excitement!
Well, almost a year later and lots of recipe testing and I am over the moon to share with you, spaghetti squash in the instant pot aka the easiest way ever to cook a spaghetti squash and an excuse for getting an instant pot.

Can You Cook Spaghetti Squash In An Instant Pot?
Yes, you can cook spaghetti squash in an instant pot (or any other pressure cooker) and you will love it, because it is truly AMAZING.
What makes instant pot spaghetti squash so good is that you can dump in a whole squash into the instant pot, it steams as it pressure cooks, you remove the squash, cut and fork it, and you are done.
Spaghetti Squash In UK
Whenever I mention to anyone in the UK that I love Paleo and I love spaghetti squash, most have not heard of either.
They ask what a spaghetti squash is, are fascinated when I tell them and then tell me they never see it in UK supermarkets which I feel is a real shame.
I have found the best place to get spaghetti squash in the UK is from the same farmers that host their Pick Your Own Pumpkins and that is where I am getting mine from.
Here is the spaghetti squash I picked up from my local farmer last year:
Spaghetti Squash In Instant Pot With Trivet
I highly recommend cooking your spaghetti squash using a trivet. That trivet needs to be a regular one with handles and not a tall standing one.
That is because if you use a tall standing trivet then the spaghetti squash will be too tall for the instant pot.
Then you want to aim for a trivet with handles because it makes it so easy to get the hot spaghetti squash out of the instant pot once it has finished pressure cooking. Just like Chef Dom is showing you below:
Instant Pot Spaghetti Squash Whole
I do recommend that you choose a spaghetti squash that is medium so that it will fit into the instant pot whole.
As the easiest way to cook a spaghetti squash is whole. Then it can be cooked just like our instant pot butternut squash, and you can then slice it open, remove seeds and tuck in.

Spaghetti Squash Instant Pot Ingredients
Squash – You will want a small or medium spaghetti squash that will fit in the instant pot. Our spaghetti squash weighed 2kg/4.4lbs. I had a few spaghetti squashes that were too big, and they were cut in half for microwave spaghetti squash instead.
Water – You will also need 2 cups of water (480ml) for the bottom of your instant pot for when it goes to pressure.
Seasoning – Then for seasoning for your pressure cooker spaghetti squash recipe, we just used salt and pepper, then focused extra seasoning on what we served with the squash such as our favourite instant pot frozen meatballs.
Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this spaghetti squash instant pot recipe it has just been our Instant Pot. We have this one and it’s my favourite and great for a lot of different instant pot veggies.
Plus, we recommend you head over to our instant pot recipes category as we have many electric pressure cooker recipes and have been using instant pots for 5 years.

- Slice. Then use the trivet handles to remove the spaghetti squash and then slice lengthways like you do with a melon. Remove the seeds and reserve if you plan to cook our air fryer spaghetti squash seeds.

How Long To Cook Spaghetti Squash In Instant Pot?
The cook time for spaghetti squash in the instant pot, or any electric pressure cooker is JUST 10 minutes plus a full natural pressure release.
We tried this method with many different sized spaghetti squash and it was perfect every single time.

In my opinion the best way to cook a squash as it gets cooked evenly and in a very timely manner. Your recipe and ideas were great for me and even though some of the family did not take to it me and my hubby loved it and a lot healthier than pasta as well, thank you.
