Cooking Packet Stuffing In Air Fryer

I have shown you how to make homemade air fryer stuffing balls, as well as instant pot homemade stuffing and my personal favourite slow cooker stuffing.

But what I often get requests for is cooking packet stuffing in air fryer. The idea that you use a box mix, and you can transform it into delicious stuffing with less effort.

We showed you how to do this last Christmas with instant pot stuffing from a box and microwave paxo stuffing, but what about in the air fryer?

I spotted that on a box of paxo stuffing the cook time in the oven is a whopping 35 minutes and you also need to pre-heat the oven. What if we could cook paxo stuffing balls in air fryer in a fraction of the oven cook time?

Well, lets put the theory to the test and make packet stuffing in air fryer.

Today, I am going to be showing you first how to cook paxo stuffing balls in air fryer, along with how long to cook paxo stuffing in air fryer. Then we will be showing you another packet stuffing in air fryer to see how they compare.

Beyond our air fryer paxo stuffing, we have many more roast dinner sides that you can cook in the air fryer. Try air fryer pigs in blankets, air fryer duck fat roast potatoes, air fryer frozen roast potatoes, air fryer homemade Yorkshire puddings or air fryer frozen Yorkshire puddings.

Can You Cook Paxo Stuffing In An Air Fryer?

Yes, you can cook Paxo stuffing in an air fryer. If you think about the process of cooking Paxo stuffing, you mix it with boiling hot water, add a little butter or margarine and then let it sit for a little while. You then cook it in the oven.

So, when you cook Paxo stuffing in the air fryer, you use the air fryer for the final part and swap the oven for the air fryer.

Can You Do Stuffing In The Air Fryer?

Yes. You can do many different types of stuffing in the air fryer. My favourite (because it’s the easiest) is to do air fryer stuffing balls. They are like making meatballs and the air fryer will make a good sized portion even if you have a smaller air fryer.

You can also make homemade or packet mix stuffing in the air fryer, its totally up to you.

Or when you have stuffing leftovers, don’t forget to make our air fryer stuffing muffins!

Best Way To Cook Stuffing?

The best way for cooking stuffing is either in the air fryer or the slow cooker. We find either gives the best results.

The slow cooker is ideal, if you want to get your stuffing on early and then forget about it.

Then the air fryer is best for a quick and easy method with a delicious crisp.

How To Cook Stuffing In A Ninja Foodi?

When you cook Ninja Foodi Stuffing you have a lot of great choices and that is because the Ninja Foodi is a multi-cooker and is not just a one type of cooking machine.

Paxo Stuffing Air Fryer Ingredients

Paxo Stuffing Air Fryer Ingredients

Mix – Let’s start with the Paxo stuffing mix. You will need one packet which will make 12 stuffing balls, or if feeding less you can downgrade and do ¼ or a ½ of a box.

Butter – You can use either butter or margarine or another favourite. You just need one heaped tablespoon of fat to make your sage and onion stuffing taste better.

I also recommend having a large plate and a large measuring jug to hand for the mixing process.

Can You Recommend An Air Fryer?

I often get asked which air fryers I recommend and which one I use. In 95% of our air fryer recipes, we use either the Philips Air Fryer XL or the Cosori XL because they are the best ones, we have found out of many air fryers we have tried over the years. You can click on the links above and read up on them.

But if you would rather have a dual air fryer we recommend this Ninja Dual (make sure you order the right one as not all are good) or the Philips Dual.

How To Cook Paxo Stuffing In Air Fryer?

  • Mix. Firstly remove the sage and onion stuffing mix from the box and place it into a large measuring jug. Add in the boiling water and the butter and mix well with a fork.
  • Cool. Next place a plate under the measuring jug and place the plate into the fridge. Leave in the fridge for about an hour until the stuffing is cool enough to handle with your hands.
  • Prep. Next when cool enough, make into 12 medium stuffing balls and place into the air fryer basket.
  • Cook. Next air fry stuffing balls for 12 minutes at 180c/360f or until piping hot in the centre.

And that is how easy cooking packet stuffing in air fryer is.

What About Other Packet Stuffing In Air Fryer?

One of our family days out, in the lead up to Christmas, was to a stately home for a Christmas themed event. They have an amazing farm shop and I can be lost in there for hours and hours.

One item I picked up on our visit was an apricot stuffing mix.

I always thought of it as a nicer more quality version of Paxo stuffing.

It reminded me that you can cook any packet stuffing in the air fryer and you don’t just have to make air fryer stuffing balls.

I placed the apricot stuffing mix into a bowl with 240ml/1 cup of boiling water along with a sprinkle of dried parsley, ¼ diced and peeled red onion and 2tbsp butter.

Mixed the apricot stuffing mix well and then place it into an air fryer container and then the container was placed into the air fryer.

I air fried stuffing for 15 minutes at 180c/360f and it was done.

It just shows you can mix and match especially if you cant get hold of Paxo stuffing.

How Long To Cook Paxo Stuffing In Air Fryer?

The stuffing balls cooking time is JUST 12 minutes for 12 medium Paxo sage and onion stuffing balls.

In comparison, Paxo recommends on its packaging to cook their stuffing balls in the oven for 35 minutes, meaning you are saving a massive 23 minutes by air frying your stuffing.

Frozen Stuffing Balls In Air Fryer

We also tried some frozen Aunt Bessie’s stuffing balls in the air fryer. They were delicious and cooked from frozen took just 15 minutes at the same temperature as the Paxo stuffing balls in air fryer.

Ooo… looking forward to trying this in my new air fryer. I like the Paxo stuffing balls with thick onion gravy as meal in itself.
