I love a bargain and my favourite time of the year is straight after Christmas when the shops reduce all the Christmas produce, especially the meat.
I will buy in bulk beef shin, whole turkeys, chicken breasts and any other turkey that I can get my hands on.

Air Fryer Turkey Drumsticks
Youโll be looking at my photos and thinking they are not air fryer turkey legs, they are in fact, air fryer turkey drumsticks.
And you are RIGHT they are air fryer turkey drumsticks.
But in the USA, they are always referred to as turkey legs even though there are no thighs and thatโs what I have a habit of calling them.
Therefore note, whether you call them air fryer turkey drumsticks or air fryer turkey legs they are one of the same.
Turkey Leg Air Fryer Ingredients
Drumsticks โ We used two medium sized turkey drumsticks that came in a pack from Lidl. You can use the same or similar ones. Though note, if yours are much bigger then you will need to adjust the cook time.
Oil โ I recommend some extra virgin olive oil in a spray bottle that you can spray onto the skin of the turkey. This will help create that wonderfully crispy skin.
Seasoning โ Just like when you cook air fryer sirloin steak, a simple seasoning works best. That way you can enjoy the flavours of the turkey leg. We used mixed herbs, salt and pepper in this recipe.
Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in our turkey leg in the air fryer, it has just been our Philips Air Fryer. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of air fryer recipes and roasts meats like turkey perfectly.
How To Cook Turkey Legs In An Air Fryer?
- Prep. Start by prepping your turkey legs. Smoother your turkey legs in extra virgin olive oil and then season well. The oil then becomes the glue for the seasoning and ensures a flavoursome turkey leg.
- Cook. Load your turkey leg(s) into the air fryer basket and cook for 20 minutes at 180c/360f. Then turn and cook for a further 10 minutes.
- Serve. Once the air fryer beeps serve with your favourite rice or lunch or dinner. My personal favourite is instant pot brown rice, or you can add some vegetables and make instant pot vegetable rice.
How Long To Cook Turkey Legs In Air Fryer?
For cooking a turkey leg in the air fryer, the recommended cook time is JUST 30 minutes. You will be impressed with how quickly you can cook a turkey leg in the air fryer compared to in the oven.
Also note, that depending on the size of your air fryer you can usually cook three turkey drumsticks in the air fryer at once.

- 2 Turkey Drumsticks
- 1 Tbsp Mixed Herbs
- 1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Salt & Pepper
Instructions
- Smoother your turkey legs with extra virgin olive oil. Then season well with mixed herbs and salt, and pepper. Place into the air fryer basket and cook for 20 minutes at 180c/360f.
- Turn your turkey leg over to allow for an even crisp.
- Then cook for a further 10 minutes at the same temperature.
