Celery Soup In Soup Maker
Did you know that celery is considered a negative calorie food? That means that your body makes more of an effort eating it, than what is in the food itself.
As well as this, did you know that celery is often named as one of the most wasted foods. It is bought with good intentions and will often be used in a stew or a casserole, then what is left, is often left, and forgotten about in the fridge, before it heads to the bin.
You can combat these things by creating a low calorie celery soup recipe, it is made in the soup maker and you can dump in all the ingredients and make use of your spare celery.
You also have a much lower calorie soup that you can serve for dinner or store in the freezer and use as stock.
Do You Cook Veg Before Putting In Soup Maker?
No, you don’t. The benefit of a soup maker, or as you might call it a soup machine, is that they cook the soup for you.
You dump your vegetables, along with other soup maker essential recipe ingredients into the soup maker, it then makes amazing homemade soup for you and you come back when it beeps.
I have been a HUGE fan of the soup maker and got my first (similar to this one) whilst heavily pregnant with my daughter Sofia (late summer 2014) and love it for baby food, making quick soups, sauces and also for other things such as chicken liver pate.
Celery & Potato Soup
To make a creamy celery soup, i.e. celery soup recipe no cream, is to sneak in a large potato. The potato is then your cream. It makes the celery soup very creamy, and you will be amazed when you tuck int that no cream has been involved.
You also don’t need a lot of potato and potato like celery is low calorie and perfect for a healthy lunch via the soup maker.
Slimming World Celery Soup
If you follow Slimming World then this celery soup is fantastic for you too. There is no oil, and you are dumping vegetables, seasoning and stock into a soup maker.
You could also use a healthy extra for the bread to go with your soup and have this for a filling lunch.
Easy Celery Soup Ingredients
Celery – I recommend going through your fridge and grabbing all the leftover celery you have, that needs using up. I will often add in some other vegetables too, depending on what food I have in.
Potato – To create a cream of celery soup, it is recommended to have equal quantities (or close to it) of celery to potato. What I do is use a few sticks of celery along with a large potato.
Flavour – For flavour I love to add garlic puree. You can use minced garlic, fresh garlic cloves or something similar. Note that because the garlic is fully blended, you can add whole garlic cloves and they will blend into your soup.
Stock – You can add whatever you like for your stock. My favourite choice is a previous batch of soup I have made that is watered down as it gives great flavour. Or you can use a stock cube or just use water.
Seasoning – I love to season my soups with oregano and some salt and pepper.
Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this celery potato soup, it has just been our favourite soup maker. We have this one and its wonderful for making soups, sauces, and smoothies.
How To Make Celery Soup?
- Prep. I always start by washing my celery and dicing it, as well as dicing my potato.
- Dump. Load everything into the soup maker, set the smooth soup setting and leave it to it.
- Finish. I like to sprinkle my celery soup with grated cheese and a little extra salt and pepper before serving.
Basic Celery Soup Recipe
You can use our celery soup as your basic celery soup recipe and then mix and match it with other favourite ingredients.
My two favourite ways to enjoy a bowl of Morphy Richards Soup Maker Celery Soup is to transform into:
Celery & Leek Soup In Soup Maker – Swap half the celery for leeks and use it as a chance to use up your leftover celery and leftover leeks. Or ideal when you want celery soup but only have a small portion of celery.
Celery & Stilton Soup In Soup Maker – Add in 28g/1oz of grated stilton into the soup maker and then add a little extra sprinkle of it on top.
What To Serve With Your Celery & Potato Soup?
I find that a bowl of celery soup in the soup maker is even better with some bread or bread rolls. In fact, my hubby always says, he will eat soup as long as there is bread.
I recommend you make our air fryer bread rolls. They are amazing and you can make them as a platter of pull apart bread rolls and they taste as good as they look.
Or put a loaf of our bread maker beer bread on for the ultimate bread making experience.

Soup Maker Celery Soup
Soup Maker Celery Soup Ingredients:
- 360 g Celery
- 360 g White Potato
- 1 Tbsp Garlic Puree
- 200 ml Vegetable Stock
- 1 Tbsp Oregano
- Salt & Pepper
- Dice up your celery and potatoes, you can do the potatoes skin on or skin off. Why not save time by keeping the skin and the healthiest bit of the potato? Load celery and potatoes into a colander and rinse well and add to the soup maker.
- Load the rest of the ingredients into the soup maker and set it to the smooth soup setting.
- Cook for 20 minutes until you have smooth soup.
- Serve with grated cheese and bread rolls.
