Salt And Pepper Chicken Wings
If you know me well, you will know that I love Chinese food and have a thing for the salt and pepper flavoured food.
A foodie first for me in 2018 I love the flavour of salt and pepper on my Chinese food and even our eldest son Kyle, that hates peppers, loves it too.
On a takeaway night we would always order some salt and pepper chips and I so converted them into our air fryer salt and pepper chips.
Then after this we did the same again but taking Iceland frozen chicken into air fryer salt and pepper chicken. Though we added in peppers to give them the salt and pepper tradition.
Now we are back again air frying frozen salt and pepper chicken wings in the air fryer and now the three pieces are perfect served together for your Chinese night in.
I am sure you get how much I love fakeaway food in the air fryer and here is some more: air fryer doner kebab, air fryer hamburgers, air fryer frozen onion rings, air fryer frozen chicken nuggets, air fryer frozen fries.
Can You Air Fry Salt And Pepper Wings?
Yes, you can cook your favourite salt and pepper wings in the air fryer, and you will love them.
I prefer frozen salt & pepper wings over ones from the Chinese and of course, they are much cheaper.
Should I Thaw Frozen Wings Before Air Frying?
No need to thaw frozen wings before you air fry them. Air fryer frozen chicken wings are delicious, and they are so good cooked from frozen.
You can get them in many flavours too like these salt and pepper wings.
Air Fryer Chicken Wings UK
Of course, we live in the UK so you could call these our air fryer chicken wings UK recipe because they are made using frozen wings from Iceland.
If you are looking for air fryer frozen wings including these, they all came from Iceland here in the UK.
Though of course, any brand are fine to use, and as we don’t weigh out the chicken wings and just spread them out in the air fryer basket, they are great regardless of whether you are on metric or imperial.
Salt Pepper Chicken Wings Ingredients
Wings – We used the frozen Iceland Chinese salt & pepper chicken wings. And used one full bag in the air fryer.
Spray – This is of course optional, but if you want super crispy salt n pepper chicken wings from frozen, then we recommend some oil spray on the chicken wings skin.
Can You Recommend An Air Fryer?
I often get asked which air fryers I recommend and which one I use. In 95% of our air fryer recipes, we use either the Philips Air Fryer XL or the Cosori XL because they are the best ones, we have found out of many air fryers we have tried over the years. You can click on the links above and read up on them. But if you would rather have a dual air fryer we recommend this Ninja Dual (make sure you order the right one as not all are good) or the Philips Dual.
How To Make Salt And Pepper Wings?
- Spread. Once you have opened your bag of salt & pepper chicken wings it is time to air fry them. Spread them out in a layer in the air fryer, making sure they are not on top of each other.
- Cook. Next air fry frozen wings for 15 minutes at 180c/360f.
- Turn. Then you want an even cook on your salt and pepper wings recipe, so you can either turn your wings with tongs, or shake the air fryer basket.
- Cook. Then air fry your almost cooked chicken wings for a further 5 minutes or until piping hot.
How Long To Cook Frozen Wings In Air Fryer?
Salt and pepper air fryer wings take JUST 20 minutes. This was through testing it in our Philips Airfryer XL, Cosori XL and our Ninja Foodi using the air fryer basket.
But of course, not all air fryers are equal, and you may have to adjust depending on your air fryer type.
What Temp Should Wings Be In Air Fryer?
The ideal frozen chicken wings air fryer temperature is 180c/360f. This stops the frozen wings from being too dry and also cooks them through and helps create the crispy skin.
