  1. Hi Leanne,

If you are at work for longer than 2 hours then i would suggest leaving it on low for at least 4 hours, or if you prepare it and leave it in the fridge then if someone could pop it in the slow cooker for you 2 hours before you arrive home.

    Kind Regards

    Sam

  2. Hi Lora,

Sorry I have absolutely no idea as I don’t count calories. Though I will look into adding calorie information into this recipe at a later date.

  3. Hi Nicole,

I never do as the juices in tinned tomatoes are full of vitamins and really good for you and they add flavour to a dish.

    1. Hi sarah,

      Yes it could.

I used old big greek yoghurt pots and placed it in the freezer. Or with you cooking it in the slow cooker, one eats first and then you put it down to low and it will keep warm for the 2nd person.

Hi Samantha & Dominic, looking forward to trying this recipe. Just one question, do you know if your mixed spice is the same as ours in the uk? We tend to use mixed spice in cake recipes but we also have something called all spice. Be grateful if you could advise me.

    1. Hi Carol

Yes it is we buy ours from Iceland here in Portugal which is an English shop. It is only different from the US version.

    1. Hi Nikki,

Yes absolutely Nikki but i would suggest that you put all your seasonings into a bowl with your chicken and marinade it in the fridge for about an hour before cooking just make sure all the flavour is released.

  5. Hi Sam
Can you have thus with rice or chickpeas does it effect your daily syn quota I don’t think my husband could cope with just chicken lol
    Cheers x

    1. Hi Shaz,

Boiled rice is free so that is perfect on a regular extra easy day. But if you want to go low carb then I would recommend having it with chickpeas.

  7. Hi Mike

I always find when the lid isn’t on properly it can ruin the chicken and make it dry.

    Kind Regards

  8. Hi Sasha,

No i have just worded it wrong. It was supposed to read After 2 hours add the ingredients from the slow etc etc into a blender.

    Sorry about that 🙂

    Thanks

    Sam

  9. Hello,
To save time can I precook the chicken, boiled? Also, I have garam Masala but couldn’t find the 5 spice blend, where can I find a recipe for it? I have my chopped tomatoes & onions in the slow cooker right now!
    Thanks, Tricia

  10. Oops, didn’t realize that you are in Portugal and well, I’ll figure it out and let you know how it comes out.

    1. HI Tricia,

      No problem.

Though i should point out that we got the 5 blend from the UK as its not available in Portugal. Just thought i would mention that if you are in the UK.

    1. Hi Bailey,

At the time of writing i am sure it was syn free 🙂

      Kind Regards

  11. Hi Vicki,

If you mean by cooking using the pressure option and not the slow cooker option then i would cook part 1 in 15 minutes on manual, then part 5 cook for 20 minutes, i would also add more seasonings because we have found that with the Instant Pot the food can come out slightly tasteless after cooking it so quickly. Where as in the slow cooker the chicken has time to marinade whilst it cooks, so maybe marinade the chicken over night in the fridge before cooking it in the IP.

Let us know how it turns out if you decide to try it 🙂

    Kind Regards

    Dom

    1. Hi Sarah,

If you want to add extra vegetables to your butter chicken then you can do this an hour before your butter chicken is finished.

    1. Hi Heather

I have updated the recipe. The amount is roughly 288 calories per serving but this is calculated by our plugin and should only be used as a guide 🙂

      Thanks.

  12. Hi Pip,

I added it when i did because i thought it made the curry creamier but at the end should be fine. Hope you enjoy the recipe 🙂

    Thanks.

  13. Hi Jane,

Yes we use the standard 400g tins of tinned tomatoes. And I hope you enjoyed your curry.

    Kind regards

  14. Hi I’m was planning on making this tomorrow, I want to pop everything in slow cooker and leave for work for 7 hours. Would this be ok? I wouldn’t be able to blend anything after couple hours?

    1. Hi Natasha,

Yes you can do this and blend it when you get home. Just make sure you cook it on low.

      Kind regards

  15. Hi Rachael,

No liquid required. The tomatoes carry a lot of liquid on their own so it is not necessary to add liquid.

And yes you can sub for cherry tomatoes.
