Reheat French Toast
Over Christmas last year, we had some great fun in the air fryer with French Toast. We made air fryer French toast and we made air fryer French toast sticks as well as some cute little French stick cubes that were French toast sticks chopped into 3rds.
But what we were left with in our experiments, which I think is the same for most food bloggers, is an excess of French toast.
The leftover French toast made its way into a Ziploc bag and was placed in the fridge and we reheated the French toast over a few days until the kids had eaten it all.
In the end they were rather upset that they had eaten all this yummy French toast and that it was all gone.
So, we made more French toast and more French toast was reheated!
Today, on Recipe This, I wanted to share with you exactly how to reheat French toast using the air fryer, and why you shouldn’t use the microwave for reheating French toast.

Can French Toast Be Eaten The Next Day?
Yes, French toast can be eaten the next day, or for the next 3 days, depending on how quickly you plan to tuck into it.
If, however, you are not planning to eat your leftover French toast within the next 3 days, I recommend instead that you freeze it. Then it will last in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Can You Reheat French Toast?
Yes, you sure can. Just like when you reheat quiche, which also contains eggs and milk, it is fine for reheating if you have leftovers.
Many of us feed our kids French toast and they don’t have a big appetite and we want to make use of their leftovers.
I do recommend, like with most foods that you can reheat, that after you have had enough to eat, that you store it into the fridge or freezer ahead of reheating at a later date.
Can You Reheat French Toast In The Air Fryer?
Yes, you can. I have had great success with using the air fryer to reheat my French toast. Plus, because of the crisp the air fryer gives to your French toast, I prefer it when it has been reheated, compared to when it was originally cooked.
What Is The Best Way To Reheat French Toast?
The best way to reheat French toast is with the air fryer. I am yet to find another method for warming up French toast that does a better job.
The microwave is the worst way for reheating homemade French toast. This is because it makes it soggy and dry.
Whilst with an air fryer, when you reheat your French toast, it gives it a wonderful crispy texture and it tastes like just cooked French toast from the frying pan.
How To Store & Reheat French Toast
Before we dive into how to reheat French toast, lets talk about freezing and storing your leftovers.
I recommend that you use a Ziploc bag and once your French toast has cooled down that you load it into the Ziploc bag.
Then you can place it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
However, if you are planning on freezing and reheating French toast, then the tray method in the freezer works best.
You can see it in action in our banana nice cream. But basically, you freeze the bananas as slices and then move them to a freezer bag such as a zip loc.
What this does is stops them from sticking together in the bag because they are already almost frozen.
I recommend you do the same if you are freezing your French toast. Then follow our instructions for reheating frozen French toast in air fryer.
Reheat French Toast Air Fryer Ingredients
Toast – Start with your cooked French toast that you want to reheat. It can be cubes, sticks or just regular slices of French toast. If you have your kids leftovers on a plate ready for a reheat, it might even be broken into pieces.
Spray – You will need some extra virgin olive oil spray to get that crisp back on your French toast. Otherwise, you will get a soggy texture.
Sugar – I also recommend some icing sugar for sprinkling on top of the French toast when cooked as it adds a lovely sweetness to it.
Extras – You can also sprinkle with extra cinnamon if you wanted too.
Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used for reheating French toast in air fryer it has just been our Cosori Air Fryer. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of air fryer recipes.

Well, the method for how to reheat French toast sticks in the air fryer is one of the same. The only difference is, its easier and the cook time is quicker.
