Air Fryer Ground Beef. How easy it is to brown ground beef in your air fryer. Zero oil and perfect for a huge selection of your favourite ground beef recipes. Also perfect for Weight Watchers, Slimming World and other low fat diets.
Air Fryer Ground Beef
After sharing with you yesterday our air fryer ground beef chimichangas, I realised that I have yet to share with you the basics of cooking or browning ground beef in the air fryer.
Talk about teaching you to run before you can walk!
Ground beef in the air fryer is one of the first things that us Milners learnt to cook in the air fryer.
Well technically it was the ultimate air fryer burgers, but burgers count right? We learnt that burgers in the air fryer were the BEST and since then we have cooked so many different types of air fryer burgers.
We have also made so many different ground beef air fryer recipes too, but now looking back, I wish someone had said to me that browning ground beef in an air fryer is the business and that we should all do it.
Can I Air Fry Ground Beef?
Absolutely! Think of it in a similar way to oven baking, compared to browning meat on the stovetop.
Therefore, you dump it in the air fryer pan and come back when the air fryer beeps.
You can then use your ground beef however you like.
Is Air Fryer Ground Beef Healthy?
I often get asked what food you can cook in the air fryer without any oil that would traditionally be cooked with oil.
My first thought is always to air fryer pumpkin wedges as they are so delicious, and I can never stop eating them.
But one oil free air fryer cooking method is air fryer ground beef and it is often overlooked.
You can load ground beef into the air fryer basket, brown the ground meat until perfectly cooked and then use it however you want and today that is exactly what I wanted to show you.
This is particularly a favourite method if mine if you follow a low fat diet such as Weight Watchers. That is because you need zero oil.
I remember in my early Slimming World days adding Frylight to your frying pan to brown your minced beef (what us Brits call ground beef) and it ruined your pan.
However, load it into the air fryer baking pan and you have no spray to use and it cooks so well too.
Though, if you want to make your air fryer ground beef even healthier, then I recommend you purchase your ground beef from Butcher Box, and they will deliver direct to your door. You can also read our Butcher Box Review.
2 Ingredient Air Fryer Ground Beef
There are JUST 2 main ingredients when you make air fryer ground beef:
- Ground beef
- Tinned tomatoes
The tinned tomatoes provide moisture so that the ground beef can be cooked without oil.
It also gives you a basic Bolognese style ground beef that you can mix and match for what recipes you are making.
For example, add in seasoning, black beans and corn for burritos or add in a little cheese and oregano for a keto Bolognese.
Then you need a good baking pan that you can use in the air fryer such as the one we have below:
We love this one and even though it was made for our Philips Air Fryer XXL it is perfect for other air fryer brands of a similar size.
