Back when we lived in Portugal, everything was always so slow. Whenever they planned something new, it would take years for it to happen and for the plan to go into action.

That was the process when we found out that they were going to be building a brand new shopping centre and that the main thing for the building was going to be an Ikea.

At that point I had never been in an Ikea before and was excited to see all their storage solutions that everyone talks about, but the main attraction was always going to be the Swedish Meatballs, something I had never tried before.

Well, in typical Portuguese style we waited and we waited and we finally got our Ikea. I’m not sure exactly how long that time was, but I think it was about 3 years.

Then on the weekend it finally opened (it was Easter) it was Easter and OMG worse than shopping for gifts on Christmas Eve. And I was looking forward to sitting in the café in Ikea and having my Swedish meatballs.

And you GUESSED IT…..way too busy and no chance of getting any. So we went into the Ikea shop and grabbed some and took them how and instead had air fryer Swedish meatballs.

They were so good compared to any other frozen meatballs we had cooked in the air fryer and Ikea soon became our go to for storage, air fryer accessories and of course some frozen meatballs that we could air fry.
