A few years ago, when we were living in Portugal, we only had one shop for supplying us with frozen foods to try in the air fryer.

It was a British Expat supermarket and because there were so many different foods everyone liked, they had a limit on what they could stock compared to in the UK.

I remember getting really excited when they had in some frozen cookie dough. I had never seen it before, and we took it home and loaded it into the air fryer and it was delicious.

We were expecting to be there on our next trip, but it was totally out of stock and never seen again and I was gutted as it was so delicious.

Fast forward about 4 years and back living in the UK I noticed a lot of different frozen cookie dough options, stocked the freezer and decided to experiment to see which ones worked best.

I tried 2 from Tescos, a salted caramel chocolate blondie, a brownie style one and then a M&S frozen cookie dough too.

Today, I am going to be sharing with you my favourite of the three, how to air fry frozen chocolate chip cookies and how easy it is to cook cookies in the air fryer.

Can You Bake Cookies In An Air Fryer?

YES, YES, YES, you can bake cookies in an air fryer, and I feel like shouting from the rooftops that air fried cookies are delicious, and they are so easy to make and then air fry.

But I am sure you want proof.

Well, lets start with air fryer chocolate chip cookies with is the hero of them all. Then why not try air fryer white chocolate chip cookies, or for some fun with the kids how about some air fryer smartie cookies?

And then let’s not forget about seasonal cookies such as air fryer gingerbread man cookies, or Halloween pumpkin cookies, or our air fryer mini egg cookies.

Yes, you can air fry cookie dough and you will love how delicious warm just cooked cookies are in the air fryer.

You just have to spread our the cookie dough because as you air fry cookies, they will expand so I wouldn’t recommend cooking more than 4 cookies at once.

Yes, you can air fry frozen cookie dough and you will love it even more than homemade. We bought some frozen cookie dough in a roll, and we could just slice some off and then it would make great cookies.

But what you can also do is freeze cookie dough balls and then load four into the air fryer whenever you are craving some chocolate chip cookies.

Cookies In Air Fryer Without Parchment Paper

I find that your cookie dough in the air fryer will stick too much to parchment area and get better results from using foil instead.

Simply follow my lead and add a layer of foil to the air fryer to the size of your air fryer basket.

Then place your cookies over the foil and then follow our air fryer instructions. You can of course, leave out any liners, but you are likely to get some of the dough stuck to the basket, plus the crumbs from making cookies.

I wanted to do an experiment and try a few different frozen cookies in air fryer. Like I mentioned above, we did try three.

  • Tesco’s Salted Caramel Chocolate Chunk Blondie
  • Tesco’s Chocolate Chunk Brownie
  • M&S Milk Chocolate Chunk Cookies

The Tesco version of the frozen chocolate chip cookie dough is a big chocolate log, so you then cut the frozen cookie dough to your preferred size.

Then with the M&S frozen cookie dough, its in the shape of chocolate chip cookies and is just ready to bake.

After trying all three, I have to say, its not just frozen cookie dough its M&S frozen cookie dough. So good and M&S never fails to impress me.

Air Fryer Cookie Dough Ingredients

Cookie Dough – I recommend enough frozen cookie dough to make at least two chocolate chip cookies in the air fryer. I prefer when they are already made it the right shape or are cookie dough balls rather than cut from a big strip.

Foil – I highly recommend using some kitchen foil. It’s fantastic for cooking your cookies on and avoiding a clean up of your air fryer basket. Even better, after you have cooked air fryer cookie dough you can then move the foil from the air fryer and serve them on the foil.

Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this air fried cookie dough recipe it has just been our Cosori Air Fryer. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of air fryer recipes.

Plus, we recommend you head over to our air fryer recipes category as we have more than 500 tried and tested air fryer recipes and have been air frying for 10 years.

  • Layer. Before baking frozen cookie dough add a layer of foil to your air fryer basket to keep the air fryer much cleaner and to stop the cookie dough from sticking.
  • Load. Next load your frozen cookie dough onto the foil making sure they are not touching one another and have room to air fry.
  • Cook. Next air fry frozen cookie dough for 9 minutes at 180c/360f or 11 minutes if you are air frying giant cookies.

And I am sure you can see now how easy it is cooking cookie dough in air fryer and why you should be doing it too!

How Long To Cook Frozen Cookies In Air Fryer?

The frozen cookie dough cooking time varies depending on the size of your cookie dough.

For example, the first two batches we did of air fryer frozen cookies took 12 minutes as we had cut them quite thick.

But the batch from M&S which were more like classic chocolate chip cookies took JUST 9 minutes.

I recommend you start with 8 minutes, don’t preheat the air fryer (read more here about preheating the air fryer) and then check if they need a little longer.

I have made chocolate chip cookies from scratch in my air fryer. Yum! I use non-stick aluminum foil which works great; no fuss, no mess. I will have to try these. Thanks for sharing 😊
