Chipolatas Air Fryer
I am so used to buying thick pork sausages from the butchers and air frying them, that I had never even given chipolatas in the air fryer a second thought.
Then back in April we were making for you our brand new air fryer time and temp guide. There was very few of us involved compared to the big team that goes into a cookbook. There was us Milner’s and then at the publishers there was the publisher, her editorial director and then when it was all perfect, it went to their proof reader.
After I had provided my big list of air fryer cooking times I wanted to include, I asked the lovely ladies for their feedback. Was there anything big that was missing that should be included, and they came back to me with about another 20 foods.
One of those extra foods was chipolatas and I couldn’t remember the last time I had eaten them. I headed start out to M&S, bought loads of chipolatas and air fried them.
They were lovely and since then air fryer chipolatas is often on the menu in the Milner house and of course on the time and temperature guide that we all made for you.
The Complete Air Fryer Cooking Guide
The Complete Air Fryer Cooking Guide is new for 2024, following on from our first air fryer cookbook. Our first cookbook sold over 160,000 copies worldwide is still selling well and has changed the way people use the air fryer.
In this newer mini book, we provide you with the air fryer cooking times and temperatures for more than 275 everyday air fryer foods. It also highlights with symbols when to flip, shake and spray your air fryer food.

Can You Cook Chipolatas In The Air Fryer?
Yes, you can cook chipolatas in the air fryer, and you also cook any other sausage in the air fryer too. The benefit of chipolatas vs your regular pork sausage, is because it is thinner it takes less cooking time.
What About Frozen Chipolatas In Air Fryer?
Yes, you can also air fry frozen sausages in the air fryer including frozen chipolatas. When doing so add an extra 4 minutes to the cooking time and then do an internal temperature and adjust with a couple of extra minutes if needed.
Chipolatas Pigs In Blankets Air Fryer
You can also use the air fryer for using the chipolatas to turn them into your Christmas pigs in blankets. We have an air fryer pigs in blankets recipe and simply chop your sausages into thirds.
Air Fryer Sausage Butties
In the breakfast chapter of our air fryer times and temps guide we have….wait for it……both chipolatas and part baked bread rolls.
Its like a hint to each other that you must use the air fryer to make some delicious air fryer sausage butties.
We will be following the same time and temps that we share with you in the guide and:
- Cooking the part baked bread rolls
- Cooking the sausages
Loading them up into delicious sausage butties, air fryer style and then serving them with our favourite sauces.
You can do the same, or because it gives other sausage time and temps beyond chipolatas you can do it with other ones. Or why not swap the sausages for bacon and make air fryer bacon butties?
Chipolatas Air Fryer Ingredients
Chipolatas – You can use any chipolatas in the air fryer. They don’t have to be pork sausages either. You can also air fry chicken chipolatas such as the heck ones.
Bread – Of course, I love my sausages with bread to make some sausage butties, it’s a Yorkshire thing! But of course, you can just cook the chipolatas if you prefer.
Can You Recommend An Air Fryer?
I often get asked which air fryers I recommend and which one I use. In 95% of our air fryer recipes, we use either the Philips Air Fryer XL or the Cosori XL because they are the best ones, we have found out of many air fryers we have tried over the years. You can click on the links above and read up on them. But if you would rather have a dual air fryer we recommend this Ninja Dual (make sure you order the right one as not all are good) or the Philips Dual.
How To Cook Chipolatas In Air Fryer?
- Place. Remove the chipolatas from the packaging and spread them out in the air fryer basket.
- Cook. Next cook chipolatas in air fryer for 8 minutes at 180c/360f or until brown to your preferred level of doneness.
- Bread. However, if you would like to add bread and make some sausage butties, you can also air fry the part baked bread too. The bread rolls take just 6 minutes at 180c/360f.
- Finish. Then serve your sausages. Either as a breakfast (hello air fryer English breakfast), as a sausage butty or why not try our air fryer sausage and chips?
Now that is how simple it is cooking chipolatas in air fryer and now it’s your turn.
Ninja Air Fryer Chipolatas
If you have a Ninja Dual, then you can make these chipolatas in the air fryer even better.
Simply, use the sync feature of the dual. Place the air fryer rolls in one drawer and then the sausages in the other. Because the bread is 2 minutes faster than the sausages it can be synced so its all ready at the same time.
How Long To Cook Chipolatas In Air Fryer?
The chipolatas air fryer time is JUST 8 minutes. Though if you prefer them browner, you’re welcome to add a couple of extra minutes. To achieve cooked thick sausages you are talking at least 10 minutes, so they are quicker using the small thin ones.
Sam & Doms Top Tips For Success
It’s all about what level of brownness that you like on your sausages, and which type of chipolata sausages in air fryer. For example, heck chicken sausages because they are much lower in fat, take much longer to brown.
The air fryer chipolatas time and temperature doesn’t change from cooking 1 to cooking 16. You can scale this sausage recipe down if just feeding 1-2 or feed your whole family.
