Pizza Dough Thermomix
Okay I have a confession to make whilst most people buy a Thermomix for healthy recipes and many for weight loss, I am there for every type of comfort food I can think of.
I have made Thermomix buttercream, Thermomix cheesecake and my favourite was Thermomix chicken and corn soup.
So, no surprise I am here today, sharing with you how easy it is to make a Thermomix pizza dough.
Its my favourite dough that I have always made using the bread maker (check out my bread maker pizza dough) and wanted to see how well it would convert to the Thermomix.
So, carry on reading as I talk you through Thermomix pizza dough!
It Started With Thermomix Pizza Sauce
I took the kids to a cooking class, well its more baking, but you get the picture. They go every week after school and also have a few lessons in the school holidays too.
On one occasion they had a pasta making class and I just noticed how much leftover fresh pasta there was, so I took the scraps home and made our soup maker vegetable pasta bowls. (Though these soup maker pasta bowls can also be made in the Thermomix)
But what I had left was some spare soup sauce and because it had fresh pasta in it was rather thick, so I blended it in the TM6 and it went on to become a Thermomix sauce.
But what if I could then make a pizza dough in the Thermomix and do a quick homemade pizza?
Is It Easy To Make Pizza Dough In Thermomix?
Yes, it sure is. The first dough we ever made in the Thermomix was our Thermomix playdough and to be honest, making a pizza dough in Thermomix is so different.
Though I will say the bread maker is easier but if you don’t have a bread machine, the Thermomix is a great backup plan.
Is It Okay To Use Instant Yeast For Pizza Dough?
Yes, it is okay to use instant yeast when you’re making your pizza dough. The little sachets are the best for when making the pizza dough and are easy to store at home in your pantry and those are the ones we have always used.
Does Thermomix Prove Dough?
Yes, the Thermomix does prove the dough for you. You just need to add a tea towel over the dough and then let the dough sit in the Thermomix and it will do an amazing job of proving your dough for you.
What Is The Trick To Pizza Dough?
The trick for us, is to use a kitchen gadget, so that you don’t have to spend your time making the pizza dough yourself!
The bread maker – allows you to add the ingredients and then you don’t have to do anything, it beeps, and you have pizza dough.
The air fryer – you can cook the pizza dough on the lowest air fryer setting and it will prove the dough from the low heat.
Then of course, the Thermomix with a tea towel over will do the same thing.
Pizza Dough Thermomix Recipe Ingredients
Rising – Lets start with the pizza dough ingredients for making the dough rise. You need a little instant yeast, water, extra virgin olive oil, and semi skimmed milk.
Dough – Then to complete your amazing quick pizza base you also need a little salt, sugar, and plain flour.
What I love most about the ingredients for this basic recipe for pizza dough is that I always have the ingredients in already so great for when you are just craving some pizza.
Can You Recommend Something Cheaper Than A Thermomix?
I often get asked for a solution for those that can’t afford a Thermomix after all they are very, very expensive. Putting it into context a Thermomix costs about 10 times that of the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker.
I like my Thermomix but I always feel for what it does and the quality it should be priced around £250 and feel guilty mentioning it because of the cost of living crisis that we are experiencing.
Well, if you think of the Thermomix as a food processor that cooks, I find the closest options is to have the Ninja products. The Ninja Foodi is a multicooker and does a lot of the things that the Thermomix does, but the closest for being able to blend and cook is the Ninja Soup Maker or the Ninja Hot & Cold Blender as they call it in the USA.
How To Make Pizza Dough In Thermomix?
- Rising. Start by warming up your rising agents. Add to the Thermomix your yeast, water, olive oil and milk. Use the warmup setting and warm up for 5 minutes.
- Extras. Put everything else into the Thermomix and place on the kneading/dough setting and set the time to 5 minutes. You will now have amazing dough.
- Prove. Next to finish your Thermomix dough place a tea towel over the top of the Thermomix and let it sit there until it has doubled in size.
Now that is how easy it is to make the best pizza base using the Thermomix.
You have now made the best pizza dough recipe, so what should you make with it? Air fryer homemade pizza, air fryer calzone, air fryer pizza dough balls or follow our toppings on our bread maker chicken and sweetcorn pizza.
How Long Can Pizza Dough Last In Fridge?
We recommend up to 3 days for pizza dough in the fridge. You don’t want it to feel past it and not be as good a quality as it is, when it first gets made. But what we do recommend is if you have pizza planned the next day, that you can make it ahead the day before, then you are all prepped.
How To Store Pizza Dough?
Whilst the fridge is obvious choice when it comes to storing the pizza dough you have just made, the freezer is brilliant too.
When you make your pizza dough, wrap it tightly in cling film (plastic wrap in the USA) and then it can go in the fridge or freezer. To save future prep time, you can double batch this Thermomix pizza dough recipe and then have one for dinner and the other for the freezer.
Sam & Doms Top Tips For Success
