Walls Sausages

Its amazing how many TV adverts have influenced us and how many great ads we still remember, even 20 or 30 years from when you originally saw them on the TV.

I always loved the gravy ad and the chocolate ones, but another that always stood in my memory was the Walls sausages advert.

The guy said to the dog if you can say “walls” then you can have a sausage. And the begging dog of course, does exactly that.

But I have to admit that after all those years of watching the Walls Sausages advert on the TV I had never tried Walls sausages.

It just totally passed me by, so when me and Sofia were shopping and we saw some walls sausages, we decided to take them home and finally try them.

The writing on the bag said 90 seconds cooked in the microwave from frozen and we were excited to see what the fuss was all about.

Can You Cook Sausages In The Microwave?

Yes, you can but cooking sausages in the microwave is not really the right word for Walls sausages.

You see they market themselves as fast cooking sausages, but when you look a little closer, you realise you are reheating sausages in the microwave from frozen.

Can You Reheat Sausages In The Microwave?

Yes, you can reheat sausages in the microwave, but only if they have not been reheated already.

This is because it’s dangerous to reheat any meat twice.

But you can purchase a bag of Walls microwave sausages like we have done and reheat from frozen in the microwave.

What Are Walls Microwave Sausages Like?

The microwave sausages from Walls, were not as bad as I thought they would be. I was expecting the Walls sausages to be rubbery cooked in the microwave from frozen, but they were just as good as the air fryer frozen sausages that we like to enjoy.

Plus, the biggest benefit of the Walls brand, is that they are reheated from frozen so FAST in the microwave.

Microwave Sausage Ingredients

Microwave Sausage Ingredients

Sausages – We are using Walls Sausages. It is a bag of frozen quick cook pork sausages.

Towel – Then you will also need some kitchen towel. This stops the fat from leaving marks in your microwave and the fat sticks to the towel.

Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this microwave sausage recipe it has just been our Panasonic Microwave Oven. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of microwave recipes.

How To Cook Sausages In Microwave?

microwave-walls-sausages-step-by-step
  • Prepare. Place frozen sausages onto a plate and then cover with a layer of kitchen towel.
  • Cook. Next reheat sausages in the microwave for 4 minutes.
  • Turn. When the microwave beeps, turn the sausages over and swap so that the middle sausages are now on the edge and edge ones are in the middle to allow those in the middle to fully heat through. Then re-add the kitchen towel.
  • Reheat. Then reheat the sausages for a further 2 minutes before serving.

You now have an easy way for reheating sausages in the microwave.

How Long Do You Microwave Walls Sausages For?

You reheat walls sausages in the microwave for 6 minutes. Much longer than the 90 seconds advertised on the packaging.

But because we often have different wattages you might have your microwave sausages reheated in 4 minutes. But I feel 90 seconds from frozen would be very difficult to achieve.

What To Serve With Walls Sausages?

We love a sausage butty, and we also love making our own homemade bread. I recommend our air fryer pull apart bread rolls, bread maker bread, or why not make it more fun with bread maker beer bread?

Or your plan B, is to add these microwave sausages to our air fryer English breakfast?

I just had to try these. if i am honest i was surprised how good they tasted. You always think when things like these are introduced, really they cannot taste too great but they surprised me , they tasted just like sausages cooked in your air fryer or grill. thanks for the tips.
