Ninja Foodi Hard Boiled Eggs

For my first ever recipe in my brand new Ninja Foodi I chose Ninja Foodi Hard Boiled Eggs.

Just because if I am going to recommend a Ninja Foodi recipe to beginners it would be loading the Ninja Foodi with some eggs and making the fastest and easiest hard boiled eggs that you have ever made.

In fact, they were so fast that I was still prepping the carrots that were going in after the hard boiled eggs, when the Ninja Foodi beeped to tell me it is done.

The plan was to have a day of meal prepping as I have recently become obsessed with meal prepping and make ahead meals.

Three kids now in school and college and wanting to focus on getting dinner on the table fast.

Plus, with Dominic and I working from home, we don’t want to spend our work days in the kitchen all day.

Hard boiled eggs in the Ninja Foodi suits meal prepping so well. I can make a batch of egg mayonnaise, make devilled eggs, make sandwiches and so much more.

Can You Make Hard Boiled Eggs In The Ninja Foodi?

Yes you can and they are AMAZING.

They are fast – just 7 minutes and a small amount of time to come to pressure.

They are easy peel – Simply load your hard boiled eggs in a jug with a little cold water and gently tap the boiled eggs and the skin falls off.

They can be batch cooked – You can easily do a dozen eggs at once if you want to. We did 7 and that was plenty for the egg mayonnaise we planned to make with them.

Ninja Foodi Hard Boiled Eggs 5 5 5

When making Ninja Foodi hard boiled eggs I recommend you don’t follow the 5 5 5 method.

While some people do like the 5 5 5 trick, there are more people that don’t and that have stopped using this method. Its kind of something you get introduced to as a pressure cooker beginner, before realising there is another way.

In a nutshell if you have not heard of the 5 5 5 method it means:

  • Pressure cook for 5 minutes
  • Natural release for 5 minutes
  • Ice bath for 5 minutes

As you can see the 5 5 5 reflects three lots of 5 minutes taking your effort time to 15 minutes. You are waiting around for the natural pressure, then you are waiting around for the length of the ice bath and it takes up too much time.

Instead what works BETTER is a 7 minute cook time and a quick dunk in some cold water so that the eggs are cool enough to touch. This cuts your time in half and makes you a lot more efficient in making your hard boiled eggs.

Ninja Foodi Hard Boiled Eggs Rack

There is such a thing as a hard boiled eggs rack, but don’t you think it looks odd in the Ninja Foodi?

Ninja Foodi Hard Boiled Eggs Rack

These were made with the instant pot pressure cooker in mind and the Ninja Foodi cooking pot is much wider.

But they do a fantastic job regardless of how much space is still left in the Ninja Foodi.

You place eggs in the holes and my eggs that I used were XL and still fitted perfectly.

You can buy just the one or buy a pack of two and have them stacked on top of each other. Ideal if you want to cook hard boiled eggs in bulk. Here is a link to order some.

How Do You Boil Eggs In Ninja Foodi?

Let’s talk ninja hard boiled eggs. A totally different option to what you are used to and so much easier.

Instead of waiting on a pan of water to boil, then adding your eggs and nearly burning yourself and then waiting for the timer to be up (which I always forget) you instead add some water, a steamer basket, and your eggs to the Ninja Foodi and the foodi steams your eggs.

It is less messing about and you don’t have to wait for the eggs to boil and it will beep when it is done.

How To Make Hard Boiled Egg In Ninja Air Fryer?

Compared to ninja pressure cooker hard boiled eggs the air fryer method is even easier and requires no water.

Ninja Foodi air fryer hard boiled eggs just involve adding the eggs and then when the air fryer beeps, you can add them to water until cool enough to touch, peel and tuck in.

We have actually found that we use the 331 method. Under pressure for three minutes, natural release for three minutes and drop all the pressure and put them in icewater for a minute. Egg whites are silky smooth yolks are perfectly creamy yellow all the way through.

The Mrs has been afraid of the Foodi I bought her in 2020 because pressure cookers scare her. This SUPER SIMPLE recipe has begun her transformation! Perfect every time, thank you!
