Hard Boiled Eggs In Air Fryer
Yesterday I shared with you an update of our air fryer soft boiled eggs and today we are updating our air fryer hard boiled eggs.
It just feels like a lifetime ago now since we first showed many, many people how simple it is to cook hard boiled eggs in the air fryer.
We always think instant pot hard boiled eggs, don’t we? We don’t think that the other popular kitchen gadget could give it a run for its money with boiled eggs too.
Personally, I prefer air fryer boiled eggs over instant pot boiled eggs, and I am sure you will too after you try this air fryer eggs recipe.

Can You Hard Boil Eggs In An Air Fryer?
Yes you can. It is one of those true cooking hacks of the air fryer and to me it’s a stroke of genius.
You see you think of the effort in cooking boiled eggs in the pan. You have to remember when you put them on, you have to drain them, you have difficulty peeling them and the list goes on and on.
Then if you cook instant pot boiled eggs it’s the time taken to pressure, plus some people making it overcomplicated.
But take the air fryer. You load up to a dozen eggs into the air fryer basket, air fry and then do our easy peel method.
You are done. No real effort involved and they peel so well that you don’t need a water bath.
Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs Without Rack
You also don’t need a rack when you cook boiled eggs in air fryer. In fact, they sit directly in the air fryer basket, making your job much easier.
Air Fryer Devilled Eggs
I don’t make them as often as I should, but the air fryer is fantastic for transforming your air fryer hard boiled eggs into air fryer devilled eggs.
Take a look at this photo:

This shows how easy the yolk comes out of the just cooked boiled eggs when air fried. If you want to make air fryer devilled eggs remember this and then follow your favourite devilled eggs recipe.
How To Air Fry Hard Boiled Eggs?

Cooking hard boiled eggs in air fryer is one of the EASIEST EVER air fryer recipes.

Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs 300 Degrees
I have been asked if you should cook air fryer hard boiled eggs at 300 degrees and the answer is NO.
It is way too hot for hard boiled eggs and will leave a dark yellow look on your eggs because they will have been over cooked.
How Long To Cook Eggs In An Air Fryer?
To cook hard boiled eggs in the air fryer takes JUST 16 minutes. There is no preheat required.
However, if you would like a softer yolk you can reduce this slightly to 14 minutes, it just depends on what you plan to use your hard boiled eggs for.

Easy Peel Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs
The best thing to do once your eggs have finished cooking in the air fryer, is to load them into a jug or bowl of cold water.
We are not talking an ice bath here, just something to cool them down enough to touch and so that you can also rinse off the peel.
Then crack the eggs on the top and the bottom and gently roll them on a clean worktop.
As this can be hard to explain in writing, I have included our easy peel technique in full in the video below and you will never struggle to peel and egg again!

At what temperature in the UK ?
Hi Virginia
120c is the best temperature ????
recipe says 120c
Im afraid that the eggs might explode. Like they would in a microwave! EDIT: I did try and was cringing but they turned out great and were alot easier to handle than getting them out of the hot pan.
HI Gigi,
No problem there at all. Just stick to the same temperature as the recipe 🙂
They come out better than they do boiled and are much easier to peel.
Kind regards
Sam

Do you have to peel them right away?
Hi Gwen,
For soft eggs peel them straight away as they will carry on cooking. But with the hard boiled eggs you can let them cool and then put in the fridge and peel them when you need them 🙂
What if your eggs turn brown in areas?
Hi Judy,
That sounds like they are slightly overcooked but they are still edible. Some air fryers can be more powerful than others so next time i suggest you reduce the cook time by 2 minutes.
Your video says 10 minutes for a dippy egg??
Hi Jo
Yes that is correct this post is getting split into 2 posts and you will find the video you watched will be in the recipe card, so please follow the video until we get can add it to the updated posts and we will let you know 🙂
Do you need to choose a particular preset mode to cook the eggs?
Hi Patti,
No we do not have any presets on our air fryer, but if you have a preset for 19 mins at 120 c/250 f then just use that 🙂
I don’t have a basket in my Air fryer. Can I just put them on a rack?
Hi Jane,
Yes you could but if the air fryer oven is bigger than the basket air fryer we used then you would need to adjust the time to cook 🙂
The video seemed to have liquid in the bottom of the Airfryer is this necessary as you don’t mention it? I have a Tower Airfryer since Christmas so am still learning how to use it. Very grateful to your web page.
Hi Judith,
The liquid is a slight bit of water where we have washed out the pan. There should not be any liquid in the bottom to air fryer your eggs 🙂
If you have any more questions please get in touch!
I have a ninja foodie and the lowest it goes is 300 degrees. Does that mean I can’t air fry eggs in the foodie.
Hello Val,
We would not recommend it because you need a low temp 120c/250f because otherwise the eggs will explode and cause a lot of mess and also could burn yourself, so this is why we practice every recipe to make sure it is safe to use 🙂
my Air Fryer, a very good quality Ninja, will not go below 300 so trying it at 12 mins…will post results.,,
Hi Sandi,
Some Ninjas do not, we have a Ninja Foodi and updated version and it can go really low as you can dehydrate fruit init, so i think it depends on the version of Ninja you have 🙂
I also have a ninja foodi which has a bake mode on it. There is where I’m able to bring the temp down to 250degrees farenheit. 6 eggs, 16 minutes, Perfect!! Gotta admit I was hesitant and skeptical 😏
