Quick Stuffing Recipe

This instant pot stuffing marks the final day of our stuffing series. But so far, we have focused just on stuffing from a box.

We have done microwave paxo stuffing, microwave stovetop stuffing and yesterday, showing you how to cook instant pot stuffing from a box.

But what about the best of the best and that is homemade stuffing. After all, stuffing is rather easy to put together when you know how.

This is a similar stuffing recipe that I use when I have made slow cooker stuffing and when I have made sage and onion stuffing balls in the air fryer.

Today, I want to show you a super easy instant pot stuffing recipe that you can easily recreate at home. It slices into cute squares, and you can also reheat it if you don’t manage to eat it all with your roast dinner.

What Is The Difference Between Stuffing, Dressing & Filling?

Stuffing, dressing, and filling are one of the same. Dressing is the common name for it in the US and stuffing is the common name in the UK.

Stuffing and dressing are slightly different to one another, because the cultures of ingredients are slightly different.

For example, in the US you are more likely to see celery being used and sausages are used with the skin removed rather than buying sausage meat.

Yet in the UK with a stuffing recipe you are more likely to see sausage meat added to thinly sliced onion.

How Do I Make Sure Stuffing Is Moist?

Well, firstly stuffing often fails to be moist because it has been overcooked and secondly this can also happen because too much bread has been added and not enough stock or butter.

Also I find that pressure cooker stuffing is much better because it bakes like a cake and has a short cook time.

What Makes Stuffing Taste Better?

Stuffing is all about the ingredients being used. Therefore, the better the ingredients the more your stuffing will taste better.

Make the effort and sauté your onion and celery and make sure you are cooking your bread with some butter.

Add in some delicious, dried herbs for extra flavour. Chives and thyme work best but you can also use sage.

Best of all, go with the best sausages or sausage meat that you can find. This is what gives your stuffing the wow factor.

Also, make sure you remove the extra grease from the stuffing before serving as it will stop it tasting really fatty.

Instant Pot Stuffing With Sausage

Here in the UK, we have sausage meat, which is very similar to what is used to make sausages with.

It saves us having to remove the skin from the sausages and cooks well.

If you don’t have sausage meat, then you can make instant pot stuffing with sausages. Sauté the sausages in the instant pot first, then remove from the instant pot, remove the skin and you have your own sausage meat.

Stuffing Instant Pot Ingredients

Meat – We are using a roll of sausage meat from our butchers. Though you can mix and match this with what you have and you can even use sausages.

Bread – Instapot stuffing is all about the delicious bread you are using. If you can use a boomer loaf.

Extras – I also recommend adding in some onion and some celery. Or if you don’t like celery, you can swap the celery for leeks.

Butter – Then to make your instant pot stuffing recipe taste better then you will need some butter and some extra virgin olive oil.

Seasoning. Last but not least is your seasoning. I recommend salt, pepper, thyme, chives, and bouquet garni.

Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this stuffing in the instant pot recipe it has just been our Instant Pot. We have this one and it’s my favourite and great for a lot of different instant pot quick recipes.
