Omelette In Air Fryer
I was with the kids at their baking class last week. Its run by a lovely lady and she teaches the kids to bake and they go once a week on a Tuesday night after school (I even mention it a lot in our new air fryer cookbook, Air Fryer Easy Everyday).
The lady that runs it Saskia, is an ex-schoolteacher and used to teach year 1. So she is very good for getting the kids attention and asking them fun questions.
Last time we went there was a breakfast theme and we were making breakfast muffins and she asked what your hero breakfast is. A dad in the class made me laugh by saying coffee and nicotine and I found myself saying “air fryer omelette” and I don’t think they thought I was serious, when I say I have omelette in air fryer almost every day for breakfast because I just love it!
It also got me thinking that our omelette air fryer recipe was well overdue an update to show you just how simple it is, how there is hardly any washing up and how you can be air frying your omelette as you are having your morning shower.

Can You Make An Omelette In An Air Fryer?
Yes, you can make an airfryer omelette. They are delicious and so easy. Ingredients are added together to the air fryer and then you call leave the air fryer to it. Then return to the kitchen when you hear the familiar beep of your air fryer to a perfect air fried omelette.
Though note, when you air fry omelette the cooking time is longer compared to a frying pan, but you can leave the kitchen and let the air fryer do its magic.
Air Fryer Omelette Ninja
If you have a Ninja, then you can still make an omelette and its just as easy. An omelette in Ninja Air Fryer works the exact same way, you would just need to make it in a container that fits your size of air fryer.
So, if you are using a dual ninja air fryer for example, you would use a narrow container, whilst an air fryer basket would suit a square or round container. Though when I make an omelette in a ninja dual air fryer, I can make my omelette in one drawer and then the hubby can have his air fryer sausages in the other drawer and it keeps us both happy!
Air Fryer Omelette Without Pan?
Many air fryer recipes for omelette in an air fryer will include the use of an air fryer pan. Those pans are usually like this silicone cake pan set we have. The idea being that you pour the mixture into the pan and this is what you cook your omelette in.
But what if you don’t have a silicone pan for the air fryer? Well, we have used little cake tins, ramekins, but our new favourite is to use paper liners, which you can even get at your local market. These are the ones we used in making this omelette recipe for you.
You may wonder why paper liners? Well, they are single use so no washing up. But just like parchment paper they create a non-stick, your air fried omelette just peels off and you can also use them as a plate for serving, to reduce your washing up even further.
Is It Good To Use Paper Liners In Air Fryer?
Yes, it is good to use paper liners in air fryer, or you could use foil in air fryer, silicone containers in the air fryer and of course any bakeware for the oven will work well in the air fryer if it fits.
The downside of paper liners is that they are single use, whilst its much better to use silicone as it wipes clean, and you get your money’s worth. But I do love the convenience of paper liners.
Air Fryer Omelette Recipe Ingredients
Eggs – You can do a smaller portion and do a 1 egg omelette or like I often do use 2 large eggs in an air fryer omelette recipe.
Milk – Then I love a splash of milk in my omelettes and often it will be the equivalent of 2 tsp of milk.
Extras – Then for omelette toppings we all have different favourites. You could add leftovers such as leftover pulled pork, leftover roast chicken or even some veggies that need using up. Though my go-to for my omelette air fryer recipe is usually cheese and tomato.
Flavour – Now you want the flavour. I like to include salt and pepper and then 1 tbsp of any favourite dried seasoning. You could use a seasoning mix such as fajitas or cajun seasoning, use something up or keep it simple with some dried mixed herbs or Italian seasoning.
Can You Recommend An Air Fryer?
I often get asked which air fryers I recommend and which one I use. In 95% of our air fryer recipes, we use either the Philips Air Fryer XL or the Cosori XL because they are the best ones, we have found out of many air fryers we have tried over the years. You can click on the links above and read up on them. But if you would rather have a dual air fryer we recommend this Ninja Dual (make sure you order the right one as not all are good) or the Philips Dual.
Mushroom Omelette In Air Fryer
A favourite among our readers is a mushroom omelette in the air fryer. If you would like a mushroom omelette, then simply follow this recipe and then add in some sliced mushrooms to your mix. It will be just as delicious and because mushrooms are fast cooking, it will all come together at the same time.
How To Make An Omelette In An Air Fryer?
- Mix. Add the eggs to a mixing bowl or a jug and beat the eggs. Then add in the milk and stir.
- Dump. Next dump into the jug all of your extra ingredients, including the seasonings and give it all a really good stir.
- Line. Next line the air fryer with a paper liner, or an air fryer friendly container you’re using. Pour the mixture into the container and cook for 15 minutes at 180c/360f.
You now have omelette in the air fryer and its all ready for serving.
How Long To Cook Omelette In Air Fryer?
We found that the ideal cooking time for an air fryer omelette is 15 minutes, or 12 minutes if a 1 egg omelette as the mixture is much smaller.
The omelette in air fryer temperature is 180c/360f and this helps cook it through without it going too brown on top.

Kitchen Gadgets
Instructions
- Crack the eggs, seasoning and milk into a mixing jug and mix with a fork until well beaten. Or you can add them all in gradually – whichever suits you best.
- Add in the remaining ingredients and you can mix and match – onion, tomatoes, cheese, mushrooms, pepper, and spinach all work well. Line the air fryer with a paper liner and then pour over your omelette mixture.
- Air fry your omelette for 15 minutes at 180c/360f.
- Remove from the air fryer using the paper liner sides as your handles. Then we like to flip it over and then you can see the lovely cheese that has dropped to the bottom, and it has a lovely colour to it.
- You can also slice your omelette in half to make two large squares that are similar in look to a quesadilla before serving.
I tried this just now with frozen chopped vegan sausages, frozen herbs from the garden, frozen grated vegan cheese, paprika sprinkled on top and used silicone pie ‘dish’. I will finely chop and freeze mixed peppers for next time (might even mix with the grated cheese/sausages/herbs so that it’s a ready mix). I ate it with tomato sauce/ketchup (but a bit of fresh salad would have been healthier, for brunch or lunch). Delicious! Thank you for all your generous info and replies. Glad you are back in UK as I can relate to that more 😉 Some of the supermarket delivery services have got their Xmas slots available btw (at least Waitrose has).
I’m interested in your air fryer Yorkshire puddings and will try those next 🙂
Thank you for your kind words Tiffany, they are very much appreciated. I am really happy you are finding our website helpful and are trying some of our recipes 🙂
Thank you for the supermarket tip, i will be having a look 😉
Thanks to your website I have ventured into and now love air fryer cooking. This reminds me of one of my favorite Chinese dishes, Egg Foo Young. Would I use the same method to make that and if so, do you have a recipe for Chinese brown sauce?
Hi Wendy,
Thank you very much for your kind words, we are really pleased you are finding the information on our blog useful and are really happy you are getting the most from your air fryer. As regards to Egg Foo Young i have not heard of it, but if it is an egg based dish and has vegetables in it i do not see why it cannot be done the same way. Also we do not know what a brown chinese sauce is, so if you would like to let us know what these dishes are we love to learn about food we have never heard of before 🙂
Thank you!
Hello Samantha
Love your website.
We live in Alberta, Canada and in our younger years we dreamed of retiring to Portugal (unfortunately we haven’t hit the lottery yet).
Would love to try your omlette but I do not have a baking pan. I have a Ninja Air Fryer – which I love. It has a removable plate or disk that provides the air flow. Below that is a teflon base. Clean up has always been a breeze so I’m wonderring if I can just make the omlette directly on the base?
Hi Wendy,
Thank you for your kind comments.
You could make the omelette just in the inner pot but a few things to look out for as we have never done it. The omelette could stick onto the bottom quite badly if the coating has worn off at all and it would leave a horrible mess. You would also need to flip it half way through the cooking time to try and stop the sticking.
Let us know if you try it and how it has worked out please because we love to see new things cooked in different gadgets ????
