Air Fry Cod
I am one of those weird British people that loves fish but hates it battered. I love the batter, and love the fish, but have never cared for them together.
Instead, I love scraps from the chippy and always have chips and scraps from the chippy instead.
As well as this I also adore cod fillets that are well seasoned and served with cherry tomatoes. The same way that I am going to be showing you how to cook today in the air fryer. Very common like this in Mediterranean countries and my old neighbour would always be grilling some fish!
So, if you want a healthier alternative to our air fryer fish and chips, then let me introduce you to air fryer cod fillets. Or as my readers call it air fryer cod no breading.
Perfect for a light lunch or supper and you can mix and match with different white fish fillets, depending on what fish you have in and what fish is in season.

Cod Air Fryer Ingredients
Fish – I recommend either using cod loin fillets that will fit the air fryer basket or chopping up some cod loins into thirds and cooking them as a similar size to air fryer chicken thighs. You can also swap air fryer cod fish for a similar white fish such as haddock, seabass, pollock etc.
Tomatoes – I love the Mediterranean perfect pairing of cod with cherry tomatoes. Simply slice some cherry tomatoes in half and season with basil and they can cook with the cod.
Seasoning – I also recommend adding in some seasoning that will make the cod fillets taste even better. For this air fryer cod recipe I recommend parsley, oregano, thyme, and basil. Along with salt and pepper. You can also use mixed herbs if you prefer.
Optional – Then if you are doing bacon wrapped cod then you will need a few slices of back bacon. I recommend back and not streaky because its lean and healthier and doesn’t set off the smoke alarm.
Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this air fried cod recipe it has just been our Cosori air fryer. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of air fryer recipes.

I asked the lovely Chef Dom how do you know when cod is done and he said when the thermometer goes in and it reads 70c then its DONE.

Air Fryer Cod Tips & Tricks
- Always pat dry your cod with kitchen towel. The cod carries a lot of excess water, and it stops your cod tasting watery or bland when cooked.
- Avoid buying cheap cod from the freezer section of supermarkets. It is often high in water, and you will not get much cod for your money. If on a budget focus on pollock instead.
- It is optional whether you wrap your cod in bacon or not. I like both methods. But avoid streaky bacon if wrapping it up.
- If making a fish pie for dinner you can air fry cod like this and then load into your pie dish. It makes a fantastic way to quickly bake the cod!
