Air Fryer Roasted Garlic
Frequently, we fall in love with food based upon how it smells or how it looks. If your neighbour is cooking a roast dinner, you’re suddenly hungry and want some.
What about when you walk past a Chinese restaurant, an Indian or even McDonalds?
It might not be the food that we like, but that smell grabs our attention.
One of my all-time favourite food smells is garlic. I just love that Mediterranean smell of roasted garlic.
It is a truly amazing smell.
I live in Portugal on the Mediterranean and it is all about the garlic. Garlic is a food that is served with every lunch and dinner and the Portuguese would be lost without it. I will walk down my country lane and there will always be a strong smell of it.
You’re probably shouting at me and saying; how much you hate garlic breathe or you wish people wouldn’t cook with it.
Well it’s my favourite smell and it would be boring if we all had the same.
Just like mine is roasted garlic, I hate nuts. If I smell peanuts, I am physically sick. But that could also be my nut allergy too.
But back to that smell of the amazing roasted garlic. It is even better in the air fryer because you can cook it in the same foil that you save it in for later, meaning that there is zero washing up and a big supply of delicious garlic for later.

Can I Roast Garlic In Air Fryer?
Yes you can. Roasted garlic in the air fryer is AMAZING. It is one of those lie changing air fryer hacks that I recommend you do time and time again.
Cooking roasted garlic in air fryer for me is a time saver. Its like you are prepping the garlic cloves ahead of time that you are going to use in recipes for the coming week.
Why Cook Air Fryer Roasted Garlic?
To be a lazy air fryer home cook of course!
If you are rubbish at the speed of peeling garlic, then roasted air fryer garlic was invented for you.
Once cooked the air fryer roasted garlic is sliced at the top and then you can squeeze out the roasted garlic.
It has a similar texture as just cooked sweet potatoes. A bit soft, but not overly wet.
How To Roast Garlic In Air Fryer?

Cooking roasted garlic in air fryer is one of the EASIEST EVER air fryer recipes.
- Slice the top off the garlic.
- Season + oil.
- Place garlic bulbs in foil.
- Air fry.
- Squeeze out garlic and enjoy.
Just think you never have to peel a garlic clove ever again. Isn’t that amazing?
Can You Put Aluminium Foil In Air Fryer?
Whether you are British and call it silver foil or American and call it aluminium foil, it is fantastic for the air fryer. It stops your air fryer from getting dirty and because it is made of stronger stuff than parchment paper it will not break when you are moving food around.
Roasting Garlic Without Oil?
You can also roast garlic without oil. The oil and seasoning give a wonderful flavour to the roasted garlic, but I have done it many times without.
Making it ideal for those on a diet such as the plant based diet.

How To Store Air Fryer Roasted Garlic?
You can simply store your cooked garlic in the same silver foil that you cooked it in. I just transfer it to the fridge once it has cooled down and it was last 3 days in the fridge before it needs using.
Though, if you’re a bit slow using up all your garlic you can place it in the freezer instead and then just get it out as and when you need it.

Can’t make it now? Then pin it for later!

Could you do this same method with garlic cloves instead of the full bulb?
Hi Priscilla
Yes the problem would be the length of time in the air fryer. I would start at 4 minutes for the separated cloves and then adjust the time as needed until ready 🙂
Thanks for this recipe, this really is a great way to have garlic ready for adding to anything, so glad i found your blog your ideas are truly amazing!
I ate this on its own, i love garlic and this is another way to use your air fryer which is not just for fries, thank you.
