Air Fryer Oven Frozen Pizza
One of the first thoughts when we unboxed our Air Fryer Oven, was that we now had an air fryer that was big enough to cook frozen pizza.
Though we have had our air fryer oven for more than a month and we are wondering what took us so long????
Well today is the day. And its not just the day for Air Fryer Oven Frozen Pizza, but the start of our pizza mini series that we are running for the next few weekends at Recipe This.
Perfect for if you love pizza as much as us and are looking for a variety of new pizza ideas in your air fryer. So what this space and follow us along at home ????
It is also a great opportunity to remember how amazing pizza is in the air fryer and how we should tuck into air fryer pizza as much as we can!
Air Fryer Big Enough For Pizza?
This depends on the air fryer you have. We have the Power Air Fryer Oven and it is perfect for pizzas up to the size of 9 inches.
With an air fryer oven, you could cook your favourite 8 inch or 9 inch pizzas easily and they would be like a crispy pizza that has been in a pizza oven.
Thanks to the size of the air fryer oven and the shelves that you get with an air fryer oven, you can easily cook three frozen 9 inch pizzas in the air fryer at once.
Or if you have small frozen personal pizzas, you could cook 6 of these at once, with 2 on each shelf.
If you don’t have an air fryer oven and have a regular air fryer, such as the Philips Air Fryer XL that we also own, you can still cook frozen pizza, but it must be smaller.
For example, you could cook our Air Fryer Frozen Mini Pizzas, or you could go a bit bigger and cook an 8 inch deep pan pizza like you get at Pizza Hut. Or you could make some other pizza types too such as:
Though it is just a case of doing the measurements of your air fryer and deciding what air fryer pizza you could cook in it.
We also went and bought some air fryer pizza pans that are 8 inch in size and perfect for deep pan pizzas too. You can have a read here for recommended air fryer oven accessories.
Though I should mention when I checked out my 8 inch deep pan pizza pans, I did notice they just fitted into my regular air fryer too.
Air Fryer And Frozen Pizza
Don’t you hate it sometimes, when you cook frozen pizza in the oven, and it is all soggy and doesn’t have that crispy base that the pizza crust has when you go to Pizza Hut?
Well the problem is solved thanks to the Air Fryer or Air Fryer Oven.
You can take a frozen pizza, remove the packaging, place it onto one of your air fryer oven shelves and cook it.
There is no prep involved and you can use any type of frozen pizza that you like. The only thing to consider is that your frozen pizza does not exceed 9 inches as it will not fit in the air fryer oven.
Any Air Fryer Frozen Pizza
You can cook any brand of frozen pizza and pick and choose your favourite pizza toppings. It doesn’t have to be cheese pizza, it could be Hawaiian or even meat feast.
We used a Hawaiian pizza and 2 cheese and ham pizzas for my our frozen pizza in the air fryer experiment.
One thing I hate when you buy frozen pizza is that there is often not enough of your favourite toppings on. So with one of the frozen pizzas we bought, we reheated it with an extra layer of cheese on it and it was much better.
Air Fryer Frozen Pizza Temp?
For cooking air fryer frozen pizza in the air fryer oven, the temperature is 180c/360f. This gives the frozen pizza a medium temperature and stops the pizza from either being overcooked or soggy and under cooked.
Air Fryer Frozen Pizza Time?
For the air fryer frozen pizza cooking time it is 12 minutes. BUT it is like playing shelf swap with your air fryer oven if you want to get your frozen pizza cooked perfectly.
That is because if you are cooking 3 pizzas all at once (like we did) they all need to have time in different places.
Otherwise you end up with one air fryer frozen pizza that is undercooked, one that is burnt and one that is soggy and that is the last thing you want.
Therefore, for perfect air fryer frozen pizza they are swapped. But once you get the hang of it, its not as complicated as you might think and if you cook just 2 pizzas at once, it is even easier to get your head around.
How To Cook Air Fryer Frozen Pizza In The Air Fryer Oven
To start with you need to get your frozen pizzas out of the freezer and remove all the packaging.
The next stage is to place the frozen pizzas on the 3 main shelves inside of your air fryer oven.
Now the cooking process of the frozen pizza starts.
Place each of the 3 shelves with the frozen pizza in the air fryer oven and set the temperature to 180c/360f and the time to 5 minutes.
When it beeps switch the top and the bottom. And cook for the same temp and time for a further 5 minutes.
Now after the second set of 5 minutes is up place the middle shelf at the top and swap the other 2 shelves around.
Cook for a final 2 minutes and then you’re DONE.
If you don’t swap them around you will end up with:
- Middle = No colour
- Bottom = Almost done but not quite done
- Top = Burnt
If you are cooking just 2 frozen pizzas in the air fryer oven, then have one at the top and one at the bottom and give each pizza 6 minutes before swapping them around.

Thank you. I have one of these air fryer oven things and i keep getting recipes for normal air fryers which i have as well but they are totally different and cook differently, i wish Google/Bing would understand this, this is just what i was looking for, great timings 🙂
has anyone tried with stouffers french bread pizza? wondering if timing would be the same
I too enjoy french bread pizza but the initial problem I had was the toppings flying off. The answer for me was to microwave for 2 minutes or so to at least get the cheese melted enough for the toppings to stick. Then I placed on my air fryer rack and cooked 3 minutes at 380. This allowed the crust to be crunchy and the top to be nice a browned as we like our pizza well done. I hope this helps!
