Stovetop Stuffing

Are you ever curious about something and want to try something different? That is always me and wanting to try American brands that I have never tried before and see how they differ compared to what I usually eat in the UK.

I recently went a box mix buying spree on Amazon and tried many different box mixes using our various kitchen gadgets.

I bought some Jiffy mix and made air fryer jiffy cornbread muffins for the first time and then the next day made stovetop stuffing.

Many people told me that stovetop stuffing was very similar to what we have in the UK which is Paxo stuffing and that just like paxo you add liquid and some butter and then have tasty stuffing on the dinner table.

Well, I love to do a compare, so yesterday I shared with you how to microwave paxo stuffing and today stovetop stuffing is getting the microwave treatment.

Can You Stuff A Turkey With Stove Top Stuffing?

Yes, you can stuff a turkey with stove top stuffing. You can also use stove top stuffing for stuffing a whole chicken, or even make it into balls and make our air fryer chicken and stuffing recipe.

Though, do note, when you do stuff chicken or turkey it does increase the cook time.

Can You Make Stove Stop Stuffing Ahead Of Time?

Yes, you can make ahead stove top stuffing. I have made ahead stuffing many times. The first stage to stouffers stove top stuffing is adding either stock or water and then mixing it.

What you could do is mix the ingredients and then leave it in a bowl and then simply microwave your stove top stuffing mix just before its time to eat.

How Long Is Stove Top Stuffing Good For?

Stove top stuffing is good for 3 days after it has been cooked. Though the sooner you use it the better. I recommend reheating it the next day with some of your other turkey leftovers.

How To Make Stove Top Stuffing Better?

Have you ever heard the saying that everything tastes better with butter? You just think of so many of your favourite foods and then remember, that it tastes so good because of the butter.

Well, that same rule applies to stuffing. Every delicious stuffing recipe I have made has had the wow factor because of butter. You will see it added to our slow cooker stuffing for turkey.

I also recommend adding it to stovetop stuffing. After adding in stock you can add in some butter and then the stuffing cooks with the butter and it makes it even more delicious.

Adding Celery & Onion To Stove Top Stuffing

Another option to make your stove top stuffing recipe have a more homemade texture is to add in some celery and onion.

You can air fry a portion of diced celery and onion and then add it to the mix and let it all cook together in the microwave.

Stuffing – You will need one box of stouffers stovetop stuffing or a similar stuffing box mix.

Liquid – When making this recipe with stovetop stuffing its recommended that you use chicken stock rather than water. It will give it a much better flavour. We used some of our frozen chicken stock and then used the microwave to defrost it first.

Butter – Then to make your stuffing taste better then you will need some butter. Just a heaped tablespoon will do the trick and you can also swap this for margarine or another favourite.

Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this stovetop stuffing recipe it has just been our Panasonic Microwave Oven. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of microwave recipes.
