Banana Souffle
I was first introduced to making a banana souffle when I joined many that wanted to shed a few points in a Weight Watchers inspired three day diet.
You can read more about it here.
The idea was that you ate specific meals for three days and it would result in a quick weight loss.
There was soup, there was chilli, there was salad, but what grabbed my attention the most was the WW banana souffle that was perfect for dessert and would be zero points on the regular plan.
But I had another idea….
Because bananas and eggs are so filling, why not have it for breakfast rather than dessert?
And BEST OF ALL what if you could convert this recipe to the air fryer, after all, I couldn’t imagine NOT making breakfast in the air fryer.
I tried it out and I was amazed by how delicious this banana souffle was, how easy it was to make, how filling it was and how simple it was for a quick air fryer breakfast.
I have even got my banana obsessed eldest son hooked on these too.
After previously sharing with you how to do air fryer oatmeal and air fryer egg cups, I feel this is yet another healthy breakfast that you must make in the air fryer.

Can I Make Souffle In The Air Fryer?
Yes, you can, and you will be amazed by how good air fryer souffle is. Because it is just two simple ingredients, its very easy to make and my banana souffle has ALWAYS risen.
You can also convert these cute souffles into air fryer banana muffins too. Simply pour the batter into silicone muffin cups instead and keep the same time and temps.
Can I Put A Ramekin In An Air Fryer?
You sure can and I have done it more times than I can remember. It is fantastic for individual air fryer chocolate chip cookie desserts, melting butter, melting cheese over a small portion of food, for breakfasts, for desserts and so much more.
But note, it’s very important that you spray the ramekin first, because it does stick.
You might also need to soak the ramekin before washing it up.
What Is A Weight Watchers Souffle?
Well, there has always been this diet trend where you mix bananas and eggs together and they become a healthier and lower calorie pancake.
But that same mixture of equal amounts of banana and egg have been taken to other recipes such as muffins, cookies etc.
A Weight Watchers souffle, also known as a banana souffle mixes these two ingredients, then they are cooked in a ramekin and served.
It rises just like a souffle does and you can also add in extra ingredients such as cinnamon, pumpkin spice etc.
It also became a dessert craze and only takes about 4 minutes in the microwave.
Banana Souffle Air Fryer Ingredients
Bananas – You will need 1 banana for 2 ramekins. I find that for breakfast 2 bananas aka 4 ramekins are ideal for filling you up until lunch time. They can be overripe if you prefer, and they are great for using up old bananas.
Eggs – You will need 2 large eggs. Or 1 large egg for each medium/large banana. It’s a good ratio to remember for when you are making a big batch.
Flavours – For extra flavour I recommend some seasoning. You only need ½ teaspoon and it can make such a difference. You could use nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin spice or even make it sweeter with some stevia.
Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this banana souffle recipe it has just been our Philips Air Fryer XL. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of air fryer recipes.

How To Cook Souffle In Air Fryer?
- Mix. Load your bananas and eggs into a blender and mix until smooth. Or use a fork to mash up the banana and then mix in the egg.
- Extras. Add in any extra seasonings and mix again.
- Load. Pour into ramekins that you have already sprayed with oil.
- Cook. Air fry your souffles for 15 minutes at 180c/360f.
And I am sure you can see now how easy it is to air fry souffle and why it has become one of my favourite breakfasts.
How Long To Air Fry Souffle?
I recommend air frying your banana souffle for 15 minutes. Mine are usually almost cooked on 12 minutes and I find that they need a little longer to be fully set in the middle.
Banana Souffle Tips & Tricks
- Those ramekins can really stick. Make sure you don’t forget to spray your ramekins with extra virgin olive oil prior to adding in the mixture.
- You can mix and match with any of your favourite seasonings. Though we prefer to add cinnamon to ours.
- Don’t forget you can also do air fryer banana muffins. Simply load into muffin cups instead and then add a teaspoon of stevia to the recipe.
Interesting Air Fryer Trick – Did you know you could load the mixture into a bread loaf tin and transform it into a classic banana bread. But of course, it will be much lower in calories, be gluten free and then you can slice into it like regular bread.
Can you reheat your banana souffle? Yes, you sure can. Simply load back into the air fryer basket and air fry for 3 minutes at 160c/320f. Though note it will not look as good as it did originally and wont rise as much. But will still taste yummy.
Can you make ahead your air fryer souffle? I recommend making ahead the mixture and keeping in ramekins in the fridge. Then in the morning when you are ready to cook you can load the ramekins into the air fryer.
