Air Fryer Frozen Curly Fries. Delicious crunchy not soggy curly fries cooked from frozen in the air fryer.
If you love eating curly fries when eating out, you will love how delicious and crispy air fryer curly fries are.
Air Fryer Frozen Curly Fries is an update of my air fryer curly fries recipe that I originally published in the November of 2016. Back then we used a spiralizer and they were homemade. But we feel that with how good the air fryer is for air fryer frozen food it is better updated to use frozen curly fries rather than a spiralizer. Updated again in 2021 with new photos and information.

Curly Fries In Air Fryer
I am a huge fan of French Fries and can never get enough of them. Though growing up they were never healthy, they never involved a fantastic kitchen gadget like an Air Fryer.
They were ALWAYS deep fried and tasted amazing.
I would go to the fish and chip shop (as it was cheaper than fast food establishments) and enjoy chips with scraps (It’s an English thing with the spare batter bites from the fish) and then there would be some onion gravy on top.
They were absolutely delicious and when I was growing up I could have them for just £1.20 including a bread bun and a little bottle of fizzy drink.
I used to also love using my parents’ commercial fat fryer. They would be out and about, and I would at home wanting something to eat.
There would always be a large potato in the bottom of the fridge, and I would peel it and make myself some delicious fries.
I would then have them with some tomato ketchup like most teenagers would.
But my BEST EVER fries moment was on holiday with my Dad in Belgium. You would visit a café there and it was always free refills on the fries.
Therefore, if you ate them all they would automatically come back and refill your chip basket with some more.
They would serve them with the most delicious and the biggest portion of homemade mayonnaise and I would be in food heaven.
But none of these were low calorie and they were as far away from healthy as I could get. When you grow up in the 90’s these traditions were starting to stop in the favour of frozen fries.
But that 90’s tradition was placing the frozen fries into the deep fat fryer and we’re talking a LOT of calories.
However, cook your frozen curly fries (or whatever fries you have) in the air fryer instead and there will be a lot less calorie guilt.
When I spotted some frozen curly fries in the supermarket freezer recently, I knew I had to try them out in the air fryer.
Plus, as well as our free newsletter, we also have a free air fryer mini course. It is ideal for air fryer beginners or those that want to get more confident with their air fryer. The free course runs for 5 days with a new lesson delivered each day to your inbox.
Can You Air Fry Curly Fries?
Yes, you can. Curly fries in the air fryer are absolutely delicious and a total game changer. They are also ideal for a quick appetizer, something for movie nights or best of all for game day.
You can also reheat your curly fries in the air fryer.
What Are Curly Fries?
Curly fries are a fun alternative to regular fries. Curly fries ingredients are the same as regular fries, its just that a spiralizer has been used instead to prepare them.
They are often referred to as curly fries, twister fries or spiral fries, depending on the manufacturer used.
Can You Air Fry Arby’s Frozen Curly Fries?
Yes, you can. Arby’s curly fries are fantastic in the air fryer and so are other brands of curly fries.
You could do McCain, Arby’s, Ore Ida, Jack In The Box, Kroger or even Iceland curly fries in the air fryer.
Curly Fries Air Fryer Ingredients
Curly Fries – Like I mentioned above, any brand of frozen curly fries will do a perfect job in the air fryer. Just use whatever is easiest for you to buy, or whichever is your favourite brand.
Spray – We also recommend using some extra virgin olive oil cooking spray on your frozen curly fries as it really helps appetizers get crispy in the air fryer.
Sauce – We love dipping sauce for our air fryer appetizers and its personal choice what you use with your curly fries. Though we used burger sauce.
Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this curly fries air fryer recipe, it has just been our Philips Air Fryer. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of air fryer recipes and perfectly fits a big bag of store bought curly fries.
How To Cook Curly Fries In Air Fryer?
- Packaging. Start by removing your frozen curly fries from the packaging and loading into the air fryer basket. Make sure you discard any crumbs as you go, to stop making the air fryer dirty.
- Cook. Next you want to almost cook your curly fries and shake them to make sure they are not sticking too much.
- Spray. If you would like crispier curly fries, then spray them with extra virgin olive oil, for the last 2-3 minutes of air frying.
- Sauce. Whilst you are air frying your fries, add your favourite dipping sauce to a bowl and then serve together.
How Long To Cook Curly Fries In An Air Fryer?
The curly fries in air fryer time and temp is a total cook time of 15 minutes and a temperature of 180c/360f.
Though we recommend that for the last 3 minutes you increase the curly fries temp up to 200c/400f to be able to achieve the best crispy texture.
