I often get asked what my favourite foodie season is, and I always say fall. I love the apples, the butternut squash, the pumpkin, and the fact its cold enough to get excited over winter root vegetables.
Yes, I am talking about carrots, I am talking about swede, and I am most certainly talking about sweet potatoes.
But the food you will see the most in the Milner house in the autumn is the pumpkin and the spaghetti squash.
The hubby HATES pumpkin (well unless I make a cheese sauce with it) and will roll his eyes when he sees me buying way too many pumpkins and then expecting him to peel and dice them for me.
But he loves me, so he does and then wonders if I am going to use it all and how far I can stretch the pumpkin this time.
So, to prove I don’t waste any of the pumpkin my lovely hubby peels for me, I wanted to share with you the art of air frying pumpkin seeds.

Can You Air Fry Pumpkin Seeds?
Yes, you can air fry pumpkin seeds are you will truly love them.
It saves turning on your oven and with the gas bills rising, waiting for your oven to preheat to the correct temperature.
Instead, you can load pumpkin seeds into the air fryer and let it do its magic FASTER and with a lot less effort and no PREHEAT.

If you want to roast pumpkin seeds without an oven, then you are not going to beat doing them in the air fryer.
Pumpkin seeds in the air fryer are delicious, are quick cooking and they go much crispier than they do in the oven.

How Long Will Air Fried Pumpkin Seeds Last?
I was still snacking on my pumpkin seeds six months after I roasted them in the air fryer.
If you can keep your pumpkin seeds in a dry and cool place such as a pantry in a sealed container, then they will last a while.
I like to use my pumpkin seeds the most for soups as a crispy texture to the top of them and an alternative to air fryer croutons. Because of this, I keep my air fryer seeds in a Ziploc bag and then have easy access whenever I want to use them.
Pumpkin Seeds Air Fryer Ingredients
Seeds – You will need plenty of pumpkin seeds. The best option is when you are prepping your pumpkin, put the seeds to one side and give them a wash and a pat dry, then they are ready for air frying when you are ready.
Seasonings – Then for your seasonings, its all about personal choice. We went savoury and added cumin, mixed spice, sweet paprika, along with salt and pepper.
Oil – To air fry pumpkin seeds you will need some extra virgin olive oil. But only a small portion, so not like the oven quantity. In fact, for every 1 cup of pumpkin seeds you will just need 1tsp of extra virgin olive oil.

- Dry. Start by making sure your pumpkin seeds are clean and dry. If they are not, rinse under a tap and pat dry with kitchen towels.
- Season. Next load your pumpkin seeds into a bowl with all the seasonings and the extra virgin olive oil. Mix with your hands until well coated.
- Cook. Load pumpkin seeds into the air fryer and air fry pumpkin seeds for 5 minutes at 180c/360f.
