Air Fryer Pigs In A Blanket

Let me introduce you to a quick party food in the air fryer that you can make on a budget, that will be a crowd pleaser.

Air Fryer Pigs In A Blanket. There are a few different ways to make pigs in a blanket in the air fryer and I am going to introduce you to each of them.

But before I do, let me share with you the different culture surround pigs in a blanket as it is just so funny!

I grew up with a delicious Christmas side dish called pigs in blankets. You had it as part of your Christmas dinner along with your roast turkey, roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables.

Pigs in blankets was something that everyone argued over who got the last one and there was never enough to go around.

Pigs in blankets was cocktail sausages wrapped in bacon and here at Recipe This we love to make air fryer pigs in blankets.

It wasn’t until a couple of years ago when I saw a recipe for pigs in a blanket on Instagram that I realised their pigs in a blanket was very different to our pigs in blankets.

Here in Europe we would call a pigs in a blanket a sausage roll or a Mediterranean sausage roll. Using cocktail sausages instead of sausage meat to make the sausage roll.

They are very common like that here in Portugal and in France and Spain. In fact, we would often buy them for our breakfast when we were travelling through France.

I decided what would be fun would be to make the pigs in a blanket Mediterranean version and convert it to the air fryer for you.

Great for if you love the classic pigs in a blanket and want to know how to cook them in the air fryer.

Can You Air Fry Pigs In A Blanket?

Yes you can. Pigs in a blanket taste fantastic when cooked in the air fryer. The air fryer is perfect for pastry loaded food as it crisps the pastry in the same way a deep fat fryer would. Just with a lot less calories.

Air Fryer Frozen Pigs In A Blanket

You can also cook frozen pigs in a blanket in the air fryer. Simply load your frozen pigs in a blanket into the air fryer basket and cook for 8 minutes at a temperature of 180c/360f.

Air Fryer Oven Pigs In A Blanket

I love cooking pigs in a blanket in the air fryer oven because it is bigger, and it will hold a lot more of these party food sensations.

You can load up the air fryer shelves and then switch the shelves around so that each of the pigs in blankets get cooked.

Variations Of Pigs In A Blanket

Want keto? Then cook them the traditional British way like our air fryer pigs in blankets. It involves wrapping bacon around cocktail sausages instead and is delicious.

Want crescent rolls? Get out a can of Pillsbury and use their pastry instead of making your own. Then you just need 3 ingredients. The crescent roll, a beaten egg and the cocktail sausages.

Want air fryer crescent dogs? Then make using your crescent roll suggestion but instead make them bigger with hotdogs.

  1. My pigs in a blanket are different yet. Use canned biscuits wrapped around a link sausage. Bake till biscuiets are done. Great for breakfast or anytime. I’m 84 and this is the only kind I knew about till the last few years.
