How to cook the most delicious slow cooker beef shin. This shin of beef is cooked slow in the slow cooker, is loaded with flavour and perfect for a variety of different beef recipes.
Season your beef shin and then brown on all sides with some extra virgin olive oil in your slow cooker.
Put the shin to one side, peel and dice your onion and sauté your onion in the juices leftover from browning the shin. If your slow cooker is dry add a little extra olive oil. When the onion has softened add in some frozen garlic and sauté a little.
Then rub the dried seasonings into your shin and then place everything else into the slow cooker and mix.
Once mixed place the beef shin over the liquid so that its partly submerged.
Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook for 4 hours on high or 7 hours on low.
Allow the beef shin to cool and then slice.
Notes
Brown. We have a slow cooker that allows us to use it on the stovetop. Which is perfect for browning the meat first. If yours doesn’t do this, then you can simply skip this step.Stock. For the beef stock I recommend using your own or using up some leftovers. I had made some slow cooker sausages in onion gravy and used some of the onion gravy as my stock. Thanks for reading our shin of beef slow cooker recipe on Recipe This.
