Delicious slow cooker pork stew cooked with apples and cider in the Ninja Foodi. The perfect winter warmer and well deserving of your winter bucket list of slow cooker stews.
Let’s start your slow cooked pork stew with some onion. Peel and dice your onion and then sauté it using the sauté setting of your Ninja for about 3 minutes with your olive oil, until they are starting to soften.
Then add peeled and sliced apples and the diced pork stew meat and give it a good stir. Sauté for a couple more minutes to add flavour to the cooking pot.
Next add everything else but the frozen peas.
Give it a good mix and slow cook on high for 4 hours or low for 7 hours.
Then add the frozen peas and give it a good stir until the peas are heated through. Do a taste test and add extra salt and pepper if needed and then serve.
Notes
Apples. We used some spare apples from our fruit bowl. You can do the same or any will do just avoid cooking apples that you would use in an apple pie as they can be too bitter for a savoury apple recipe.Mash. We freeze leftover mash in ice cubes and then use it to thicken our stews. You can do the same or just add in some of the mash that you plan to serve with your pork stew.Stock. We also do similar with the stock and make instant pot beef stock, then do the same for other meats and freeze the stock. You can do the same or use an OXO cube. Thanks for reading slow cooked pork stew on Recipe This. We have many more Ninja Foodi recipes for you to check out next.
