Instant Pot Steel Cut Oatmeal Recipe Ingredients:


  • Place your steel cut oats, coconut milk and honey into your instant pot inner pot. Stir well.
  • Add in 600ml of water and stir again.
  • Place the lid on the instant pot, set the valve to sealing and cook for 14 minutes on high pressure.
  • Use natural pressure release for 12 minutes and then manually release pressure. By this point there will not be much pressure left to release.
  • Stir with a wooden spoon and pour into bowls.
  • Add to your bowls any fresh fruit or extra toppings.


Make our instant pot steel cut oatmeal vegan by swapping honey for brown sugar. You can use whichever sugar you wish but brown sugar or honey are the nicest.
Use this steel cut oatmeal as a way to use up spare fresh fruit. It is also perfect for while camping for a hearty breakfast.
If feeding small children (our 3 year old and 5 year old had lots) then I recommend when it is done, to give it 5 minutes in the freezer to cool in down. I always fridge mine for a little while but small kids have no patience when waiting for their food!
