Ingredients

Air Fryer Taco Pie Ingredients:

Instructions

  • Peel and dice your onion into small chunks. Place your minced beef, tinned tomatoes, onion, taco, salt and pepper into the cake pan. Mix well.
  • Place the cake pan inside the air fryer basket and cook for 8 minutes at 180c/360f. Or until the minced beef is almost cooked.
  • Add your drained black beans, sweetcorn and salsa. Cook for a further 4 minutes at the same temperature.
  • Remove the cake pan contents into a spare bowl.
  • In your cake pan start tearing off your tortilla wraps until you have a layer on the bottom. Add a layer of your taco filling, using the back of a spoon to flatten it out. Add a layer of cheese. Then repeat this with a layer of tortilla wraps, a layer of taco and a layer of cheese until you have reached the top of your cake pan.
  • Sprinkle the last bit of cheese on the top and place it back in the air fryer. Cook for a further 5 minutes at 200c/400f and then serve warm.

Notes

I like to use two types of melting cheese in my taco pie. I went with some Mexican cheese and some pizza cheese. Both were grated when I bought them.
Its okay if you have some liquid at the bottom of your cake pan after transferring out the ingredients. This is good because it stops the tortilla wraps from sticking and makes it easier from removing it once done.
When layering the tortilla wraps break them up like you do with lasagne sheets so that they slightly overlap but there are no holes.
I recommend using 4 large tortilla wraps as when they are broken down and torn, they will easily cover the different layers of your air fryer taco pie.
You can mix up the cheese on each cheese layer of your taco pie or use one type of cheese on each section. You can also use any type of cheese that melts well.
