Instructions

  • Start by adding your dry rub ingredients into the bottom of the slow cooker and giving it a quick mix.
  • Pat dry your pork shoulder and add it in.
  • Smother the top and sides of your pork shoulder with extra virgin olive oil.
  • Using your hands rub the dry rub into your pork shoulder until it is well coated.
  • Place the slow cooker on high and cook for 5 hours.
  • Remove the pork from the slow cooker, shred and smother it in BBQ sauce.
  • Load it unto tacos or barquitas and serve.

Notes

You can also meal prep our Asian Pulled Pork and save the leftovers for later in the week. It makes a delicious working lunch and travels well.
You can swap the barbecue sauce we mentioned for any brand or you can make your own.
A cut of pork shoulder that has a good amount of fat makes the best pulled pork as it is easier to shred.
