Peel your carrots and swede and dice them into small chunks.
Place 1600ml of water into the bottom of the soup maker along with the chunks of carrot and swede.
Cook for 28 minutes on the chunky soup setting.
When it is cooked you will find that you have quite a lot of liquid. This is okay as it makes the vegetables very tender and gives you some spare vegetable stock that you can then use for something else.
Remove 400ml of your stock from the soup maker using a ladle and then mix well so that everything is covered in water but doesn’t feel too wet.
Add all your seasonings, blend and then serve.
Notes
It is always a good idea to have less liquid than too much. Too much liquid can result in a soup that tastes like dishwasher water. Its always better to use smaller chunks in your soup if you want to eventually blend it as otherwise the blender function takes ages.Because we were also serving our son what we did was we blended it, took out his portion and then seasoned it for us.
