    1. Hi Laura,

Yes you could. We just happened to have a huge tray of strawberries and were using them up. You can do the same with blackberries, cherries, apricots, etc. I wouldn’t personally do it with raspberries just because they are rather expensive where I live.

      Kind regards

    1. Hi Amy,

We have frozen some for a later date, i think it should be fine to freeze it for no longer than 1 month.

      Kind Regards

    1. Hi Linda

Thanks for your comment. It is supposed to read: 1 large orange (juice only) It just means the juice from one large orange.

      Kind Regards

      Sam

      1. My never thickened. Don’t you need somekind of thickening agent. It just is strawberry liquid.

        1. Hi Vicki,

You can add some gelatin if you wanted but after letting it and putting it in the fridge the jam had set to where you could spread it onto some bread, not like the shop bought stuff which is very thick.

          Kind Regards

          1. Hi Ann,

We did need to use the gelatin but if it is bought in sheets a couple should fine 🙂

            Thanks

    1. Hi Jen,

I have never made jam with anything but sugar so i cannot say how it would turn out with something else. If you end up trying it please let me know if it works out 🙂

      Kind Regards

  1. Hi Sam,

Interesting recipe. Is there a specific reason you have pureed the strawberries at the end? I like the texture of strawberry chunks in the jam.

  2. Hi
Can you please tell me how much jam does this recipe make and approximately how much juice do you get from one large orange. I feel not all oranges yieled the same amount of juice.
    Thank you

    1. Hi Tanya

The jam made 5 standard jars full. The oranges were juiced using a electric juicer so we got allot of juice out of them, more than if you do it by hand.

      Kind regards

      Sam

    1. Absolutely. Plus it will make plenty of cans to keep your family in jam for ages.

      1. Is the package of jelly crystals jello? Cause I dont see jelly crystals in any store i have looked.
And if this only freezes one month you can’t make too much or can it long.

        1. Hi Sandy

Yes I believe they are the same thing just called something different. The safe time for us was 1 month as that is the time we freeze for but for longer we don’t know how it would de-frost ????

  3. Thank you for the recipe! I just made it, following the directions exactly, but ended up with a very soupy result. Thoughts?

    1. Hi TRaci,

I am sure you can. I have never tried frozen strawberries before but I am sure it would work.

    1. Hi Sara,

Thanks for your comment. I can only suggest using a thickening agent like gelatin, so it thickens the jam but not changes the flavour, a couple of sheets should be fine 🙂

      Kind Regards

      Dom

    1. Hi Buffalo Joe,

The juice acts with the sugar to draw the sweetness(sugar) and flavour out of the fresh strawberries 🙂

      Thanks.

      Dom

    1. Hi Michelle

I would add the gelatin after it has finished cooking so it gives it a chance to dissolve 🙂
