    1. Hi Ed

Yes the recipe should work exactly the same. The only thing i would be aware of is the cooking time. With the instant pot we have found that it cooks things on slow cooker mode faster than our own crock pot by about an hour.

  1. When you say slow cook for 4 hours, on the Instant Pot is that on the normal setting or do you adjust it up to more?

    1. Hi Barb,

I have never heard of bullion before so couldn’t comment on that. But you don’t need any liquid as pork carries a lot of liquid on its own and cooks perfectly without it.

      Kind regards

        1. Hi Linda,

No i have never heard of Bouillon but Dominic said he had when he was a chef. And yes I am based in Portugal though from the UK originally.

          Kind regards

    1. Hi Mary

Yes you could cook this in an oven. I would cook it on 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for no more than 1h 20 minutes.

      Thanks.

    1. Hi Angela

We use pork shoulder cut which is around 2kg in weight before cooking.

      Many Thanks

WELL I ADMIT I HAVE NOT TRIED YOUR RECIPE FOR PORK, BUT I BOUGHT AN INSTANT POT TO USE AS A PRESSURE COOKER AND REPLACE A SLOW COOKER. MY EXPERIENCE WITH IT AS A SLOW COOKER IS PRETTY DISASTROUS – I DONT THINK IT HEATS UP AS MUCH AS A SLOW COOKER (AND MINE IS NOT A REAL TOP OF THE RANGE ONE, BUT PRETTY AVERAGE) I FOLLOWED A RECIPE FOR 4 HOURS WHICH INDICATED TO COOK ON LOW, AND I WAS A BIT DUBIOUS SO I COOKED IT ON MEDIUM (NORMAL) AND IT CERTAINLY WASNT HOT ENOUGH OR COOKED ENOUGH. I FINISHED THE DISH IN AN OVEN IN A LE CREUSET POT, WHICH IS DEFINITELY NOT WHAT I WANTED. ANY OTHER PEOPLE COMMENTED ON SLOW COOKER FUNCTIONS? OTHERWISE THE PORK LOOKS WONDERFUL!!! BUT I WILL DO IN THE OVEN.

I did this recipe in the Pressure mode! Delicious. I lightly browned on saute’ and I added wine to the bottom. Pressure cooked 20 minutes per pound. I have also used a boneless pork loin 2 pounds or more.

      1. Hi Roxanne,

I am really glad you like the recipe and added a twist of your own. Thank you for the rating.

        Kind Regards

    2. Hello, I just used my IP on the slow cook function for the first time today. I agree with you; after 5hrs. The meat (swiss steak) was barely warm. I had concerns too, that it probably wasn’t cooking properly. I finished it off in my oven. I’m beginning to wonder if the slow cook function is working?? What a “big” disappointment.

  3. You’re recipe calls for 1 chicken stock cube but you never say anything about it in the instructions. Perhaps I missed it.

    1. Hi El

Thank you for letting us know. Sorry about that 🙁

The chicken stock needs to be added when the other seasonings are rubbed into the pork after scouring it.

  4. Hi Sam, I want to use this recipe for a 5-6 lb. boneless pork loin roast. Any added suggestions? I’m wondering about putting it on the Sautee setting 1st to brown it, then cook for the 4 hrs?
    Paula

    1. Hi Paula,

      Sorry for the late reply.

Browning it first is a great idea and i do that with all the meats i cook either in the instant pot or otherwise. Cooking for the 4 hours should be fine on the slow cooker setting but be careful as some people are having trouble with that setting as it is over cooking sometimes and then some people are saying it is under cooking there roasts.

Let me know how you got on.

      Kind Regards

  5. Hi, we received the Instant Pot 80 for Christmas. We just put a pork roast in. It was on medium for 5 hours. Not cooked yet, we want the roast to fall apart easily.
We tried to reset the temp and time, but we can’t figure out how. Please Help!!!!

    1. Hi Gabby,

Sorry for the late reply. Can I ask what size your roast was before it was cooked. Also we are finding especially with the comments we are getting the slow cooker function is differing on different instant pots. Some people are saying it is cooking quickly in slow cooker mode and some like yourself are saying it is taking ages to cook.

To reset the temp and time keep your finger on the keep warm button and it will cancel your program that you set. Also which lid are using because instant pot do a proper slow cooker lid to fit.

If you need any more help please feel free to post again.

      Kind Regards

      Sam

  6. Looking at the recipe for Instant Pot pork roast done in Slow Cooker setting – calls for 1 tablespoon of “mixed herbs”. Can you advise which herbs are mixed together??

    1. Hi Rose,

The mixed herbs are usually a mix of these from the uk:

      Marjoram, Basil, Oregano, Thyme

You can mix your own if you have everything in and add different ones to change the flavours.

      Kind Regards

      Sam

    1. Hi Norma

Yes i would put the pork on for 50 minutes depending on the size and how you wanted it cooked. For example either falling apart then i would cook it for 1h 15 mins but 50 minutes should be fine if you want to be able to slice it.

      Kind Regards

Hello, I see you have Worcester sauce in there. You don’t mention when to add it in the instructions, and because it’s not a spice I wasn’t sure you add it to the rub mix – that and a rub is usually dry. Can you clarify?
